About ChettinadThe Chettinad Group with a legacy of over 60 years in education, have been
pioneers in providing progressive learning environment across Tamil Nadu.
The Chettinad Group is currently responsible for over 12000 students in
22 private, government-aided schools and colleges for Medicine, Dentistry,
Engineering, Law, Architecture, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Allied Health Sciences

About CAREChettinad Academy of Research and Education (CARE), was established and
was conferred the status of Deemed to be University in the year 2008. CARE
has been accredited with grade “A” by NAAC, accorded 12(B) status of UGC and
accorded SIRO status by DSIR. In conformity with the vision of the University,
the academic programs offered are professional, job oriented and innovative.
CARE offers 60+ academic programs in faculty of Medicine, Nursing, Allied
Health Sciences, Law, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Physiotherapy and Architecture.
Program range includes 17 undergraduate, 48 Post Graduate, 1 Post Graduate
Diploma, 7 Super Speciality courses and Doctor of Philosophy. Most of these
courses are interdisciplinary and as per emerging needs. Choice Based Credit
System pattern is followed in many programs and is integrated with research
projects that engage students in a deep dive through research.
CARE has 2500+ students pursuing their UG, PG or Ph.D education in an
academic year. Deserving students are offered upto 100% scholarship.
The intellectual capital of CARE comprises of qualified, proficient and dedicated
400+ teachers and a well-stocked Library having books, 6000+ e-journals
and data base that form the backbone of CARE. In addition CARE has more than
1100 publications, 35+ patents and 50+ active MOUs.

Application Procedure
All applicants are advised to go through the prospectus thoroughly
before filling up the application form.
Candidates can apply for the programme by downloading the application
form from the website and filling up all the required details.
The application form must be filled up by the candidate in his/her own
handwriting and signatures must be placed in the appropriate columns.
The filled in application must be submitted along with the requisite fees
and self-attested copies of the required documents/testimonials.
Incomplete forms will be summarily rejected.

The candidates will be called for counselling in the order of merit based on
the marks secured in the qualifying examination. The prescribed fee and the
following original documents with two set of photocopies shall be produced at
the time of counselling for admission.

EligibilityBA.LL.B/BB.A.LL.B/B.Com.LL.B - (5 year integrated Degree Programme)
The candidate must have passed the qualifying examination (10+2
Examination) with a minimum percentage of marks not below 45% in case
of General Category/OBC and 40% in case of SC and ST Category.
LL.B - (3 year Degree Programme)
The candidate must be a graduate from any recognized University,
with minimum 45% marks for General Category/ OBC and 40% marks
for SC/ST Category.
LL.M - (1 year Degree Programme)
The candidate must possess a Bachelor Degree in Law or an equivalent
examination with a minimum of 50% of marks or its equivalent grade in case
of candidates belonging to General Category/OBC and 45% of marks or
its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST Category.

Life at Chettinad School of LawMooting Culture
Internship Program
Chettinad School of Law commits towards establishing the mooting culture by
organizing mooting activities on a regular basis which includes sessions conducted by
experts to inculcate mooting skills and mandatory moot exercises in specific subjects
as a part of internal assessment. The School also plans to organize a National Level
Moot Court Competition to mark its presence in the national mooting arena. In order
to promote the mooting culture the University dedicates itself to a policy of sending
their students to various moot court competitions across the country and abroad.
Chettinad School of Law follows a rigorous internship schedule by offering
mandatory summer and winter internships every year. The Law School has a
dedicated Internship protocol which the students have to follow right from their first
semester onwards. These internships are documented with the help of an Internship
Diary given to the students on the very first day of the session. The Law School
Internship Cell dedicatedly works for providing internship ranging from NGOs, Civil
Societies, Trial Courts, High Courts, Supreme Court, reputed Law Firms and MNCs.

Debating
Capsule Course
Chettinad School of Law encourages the students to instill the
skill of critical thinking and excellent oratory skills. In that
direction, various debate competitions activities are organized
on various contemporary issues.
One of the key highlights of Chettinad School of Law is that it offers
regular Capsule Courses in the undergraduate and postgraduate
programmes. These courses are designed to enrich the students
in various specialized domain of law by expat faculties. In the
academic year 2019-20, it has successfully organized two capsule
courses on Jurisprudence and Comparative Constitutional law.

Anti-Ragging Notice Ragging in any form is prohibited. As per the directions of the Hon’ble
Supreme Court of India, the University Grants Commission has framed
Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Education
Institutions, 2009, and notified in the Govt. of India Gazette in order
to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging. These
regulations are mandatory and provisions, therefore, punish those
who indulge in ragging with reference to the appropriate law in force.
