1. And the LORD said unto Moses: “Go in unto Pharaoh;

for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants,

that I might show these My signs in the midst of them;

2. and that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of

thy son’s son, what I have wrought upon Egypt [or: how I

made a mockery of Egypt], and My signs which I have

done among them; that ye may know that I am the LORD.”

is stubborn, he refuseth to let the people go.

15. Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth

out unto the water ; and thou shalt stand by the river’s

brink to meet him; and the rod which was turned to a

serpent shalt thou take in thy hand.

16. And thou shalt say unto him: ‘ The LORD, the God

of the Hebrews, hath sent me unto thee, saying: Let My

people go, that they may serve Me in the wilderness;

and, behold, hitherto thou hast not hearkened;

17. thus saith the LORD: In this thou shalt know that I

am the LORD — behold, I will smite with the rod that

is in my hand upon the waters which are in the river,

and they shall be turned to blood.…’”

17. Else, if thou wilt not let My people go, behold, I will

send swarms of flies [or: noxious creatures, wild beasts]

upon thee, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people,

and into thy houses; and the houses of the Egyptians shall

be full of swarms of flies [or: noxious creatures, wild

beasts], and also the ground whereon they are.…’”

3. behold, the hand of the LORD is upon thy cattle which

are in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the

camels, upon the herds, and upon the flocks; there shall be a

very grievous murrain [or: pestilence, plague].…’”

18. Behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause it to

rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in

Egypt since the day it was founded even until now.…’”

Hebrews: How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself

before Me? Let My people go, that they may serve Me.

tomorrow will I bring locusts into thy border.…”

midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt ;

God’s stead to Pharaoh; and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.

2. Thou shalt speak all that I command thee; and

Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he let

the children of Israel go out of his land.

3. And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and multiply My

signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt.

4. But Pharaoh will not hearken unto you, and I will

lay My hand upon Egypt, and bring forth My hosts, My

people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt,

by great judgments.

5. And the Egyptians shall know that I am the

LORD, when I stretch forth My hand upon Egypt, and

said: “Entreat the LORD, that He take away the frogs

from me, and from my people; and I will let the people

go, that they may sacrifice unto the LORD.”

5. And Moses said unto Pharaoh: “Have thou this glory

over me; against what time shall I entreat for thee, and for

thy servants, and for thy people, that the frogs be destroyed

from thee and thy houses, and remain in the river only?”

6. And he said: “Against tomorrow.” And he said: “Be

it according to thy word; that thou mayest know that

there is none like unto the LORD our God.…”

which My people dwell, that no swarms of flies [or: noxious

creatures, wild beasts] shall be there; to the end that thou

mayest know that I am the LORD in the midst of the earth.

19. And I will put a division between My people and

thy people — by tomorrow shall this sign be.’ ”

14. For I will this time send all My plagues upon thy

person, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people;

that thou mayest know that there is none like Me in all

the earth.

15. Surely now I had put forth My hand, and smitten

thee and thy people with pestilence, and thou hadst been

cut off [or: obliterated, annihilated] from the earth.

16. But in very deed for this cause have I made thee to

stand, to show thee My power, and that My name may

be declared throughout all the earth.

17. As yet exaltest thou thyself against My people, that

thou wilt not let them go?

29. And Moses said unto him: “As soon as I am gone out

of the city, I will spread forth my hands unto the LORD;

the thunders shall cease, neither shall there be any more

hail; that thou mayest know that the earth is the LORD’s.

30. But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will

not yet [or: still do not] fear the LORD God.”

1. And the LORD said unto Moses: “Go in unto

Pharaoh; for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of

his servants, that I might show these My signs in the

midst of them;

2. and that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of

thy son’s son, what I have wrought upon Egypt [or: how I

made a mockery of Egypt], and My signs which I have

done among them; that ye may know that I am the LORD.”

midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt;

5. and all the first-born in the land of Egypt shall die,

from the first-born of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his

throne, even unto the first-born of the maid-servant that

is behind the mill; and all the first-born of cattle.

6. And there shall be a great cry throughout all the

land of Egypt, such as there hath been none like it, nor

shall be like it any more.

7. But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog

whet his tongue [or: sharpen its tongue, growl, whine],

against man or beast; that ye may know how that the LORD

doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.”

Israel: Let My people go, that they may hold a feast

unto Me in the wilderness.”

2. And Pharaoh said: “Who is the LORD, that I

should hearken unto His voice to let Israel go? I know

not the LORD, and moreover I will not let Israel go.”

4. Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and

said: “ Entreat the LORD , that He take away the frogs

from me, and from my people; and I will let the people

go, that they may sacrifice unto the LORD.”

24. And Pharaoh said: “I will let you go, that ye

may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the

wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away;

entreat for me .”

27. And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron,

and said unto them: “I have sinned this time; the LORD

is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.

28. Entreat the LORD , and let there be enough of

these mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you

go, and ye shall stay no longer.”

17. Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this

once, and entreat the LORD your God , that He may

take away from me this death only.”

31. And he called for Moses and Aaron by night and said:

“Rise up, get you forth from among my people, both ye and

the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said.

32. Take both your flocks and your herds, as ye have

said, and be gone; and bless me also .”

15. but: “As the LORD liveth, that brought up the children

of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the

countries whither He had driven them”; and I will bring
