The Canadian Pain Society (CPS) wishes to partner with organizations that see a direct benefit in aligning with the society and promoting shared values of professionalism, competency-based education and a need to advocate on behalf of patients with acute and chronic pain by bringing together the basic scientists and health professionals of various disciplines and backgrounds who have an interest in pain research and management.

Exhibiting and Sponsoring at the Annual Scientific Program will offerthese partners the opportunity to become more involved in the Society, with corresponding access to learning and building their knowledge ofthe work and research being conducted by professionals and scientistsacross the field. Partners will increase their profile and leverage animproved return on their investment. The following pages outline thevarious levels of partnership, including the benefits each has to offer.

We hope that you will consider the following options andwe would be pleased to discuss them further with you.

Please contact the CPS Association Manager,Emma Flood, at the CPS National Office: [email protected] or 416.642.6379.

At the Scientific Program, there are opportuni-ties for organizations to sponsor Co-DevelopedAccredited or unaccredited Symposia.

CO-DEVElOPED SYMPOSIAACCrEDITED $50,000

• This option provides the Organization with the oppor-tunity to participate in the development of a sympo-sium. Any Organization wanting to participate in a Co‐Developed Accredited Symposium with the Canadian Pain Society may make application by way ofselection of this option, which is different from the tra-ditional “Marketing” option. Co‐developed AccreditedSymposia topics will be developed with input from boththe CPS Scientific Program Committee (CPS‐SPC) andthe Organization. Symposia will be considered part ofthe Scientific Program, and will be accredited using thesame process used for the rest of the Scientific Program.By choosing this option, the Organization forfeits theright to promote the Symposium in any way; the Organ-izer will not be listed as a co‐developer. The CPS will recognize that an unrestricted grant has been receivedfrom the Organization for the conference as a whole.

• The CPS liaison will contact the Organization. Together, the Organization and the liaison will identify a topic ofinterest. The CPS liaison will bring the topic forward tothe CPS‐SPC for approval. This approved topic cannotduplicate a topic already included by the CPS‐SPC in the education program.

• The CPS‐SPC will assign a Symposium representativewith subject matter expertise to work with the Organi-zation to identify objectives and key learning points.

• The course format and material will be co‐developed, with the CPS‐SPC representative ensuring that evidenceand slides presented maintain balance.

• The Organization and the CPS‐SPC representative willagree on the Symposium speaker(s), and the CPS‐SPCrepresentative will book the speaker.

• Funding for the speaker(s) will come from the unrestricted grant and be paid through the CPS‐SPCand conference organizers.

• The final version will be submitted as per CPS‐SPC deadlines to ensure accreditation.

• Co‐developed Symposia can be presented during normal conference education program hours or during slots reserved for Satellite Symposia.

• Co‐developed Symposia will be identified as such in the program.

• Organizations providing unrestricted grants will be acknowledged as such.

MArKETED SYMPOSIAuNACCrEDITED $50,000

• Includes standard AV (1 projector, 2 screens,1 laptop, sufficient sound, 1 lapel microphone,1 podium microphone).

• Any AV required outside of the standard listed is the cost of the sponsor.

• Dedicated time in the Satellite programming.• Logo and recognition on signage and the opening

slide at the Symposia.• Placement of marketing material on all chairs

at the Symposia.• One full page ad in the Satellite program guide.• Listing and link on the CPS website.• E-marketing promoting the Satellite Symposia.• All speakers costs including travel, honorarium,

accommodation etc. are the costs of the sponsor.• CPS provides 3 complimentary conference

registrations, including 3 dinner tickets.• Breakfast costs for Symposia attendees are

the Organization’s responsibility — Wednesdayand Thursday.

• Different from the Co-developed Symposia,Marketed Symposia allows the organization tolabel products and services and provides theopportunity to distribute material to attendees.
