HOW WE CAN HELP As specialist recruiters in engineering, we understand the challenges organisations face in attracting the very best talent. The reputation we have built within our specialisms has seen us work with clients developing next generation interiors, complex systems and airframe modifications in aerospace, through to automotive clients working on hybrid and electrical propulsion systems and supercar development in the automotive industry. 

Through the relationships we have built over the years we have developed a deep understanding of the markets we operate in. At the heart of our capability is the ability to identify candidates who would not normally be accessible by using internal or passive sourcing techniques such as advertising and database selection.

1. CONSULTATION & COLLABORATION

In order to provide the best results, we work closely with our clients to understand their business, its challenges, culture and future business goals. This enables us to identify the type of candidate that would be suitable; including the skills, experience and qualifications required to fulfil their requirements.

2. TALENT SEARCH & SOURCING

Finding and attracting the right candidate requires market knowledge, a deep industry network and a combination of traditional sourcing techniques. With over 30 years’ recruitment experience within engineering, we have established relationships with board directors and senior executives across a range of industries and functions. As a starting point, we look to identify and compile a target list of companies that have a similar or complementary business model to our client’s and map their organisational charts to identify those candidates relevant for the assignment.

3. CANDIDATE ATTRACTION & EVALUATION

Once we have identified potential candidates, we will approach them to gauge their interest in the role. Suitable and interested candidates will be invited to undertake a thorough competency-based interview, qualifying their skills, knowledge, abilities and aptitude to ascertain their suitability. We will then compile a shortlist of highly–relevant, qualified candidates.

4. REPORTING

Having appraised and interviewed suitable candidates, a shortlist will be presented in a candidate assessment report detailing our valuation of their suitability for the position. The report will include the following:

• external verification of the candidate’s achievements,

previous experience, past performance and reputation

• evidence of their qualifications

• personality profile

• our considered assessment of their

suitability for the role.

MEET THE TEAM

MARTYN WICKENSHEAD OF TECHNICAL SEARCH PRACTICE

Martyn is an experienced Executive Search professional with a proven track record in senior management and international appointments across a variety of sectors including Automotive, Aerospace, Construction, Real Estate, Banking & Finance, Advisory, FMCG and Leisure & Hospitality. Prior to joining Matchtech, Martyn lived in Central and Eastern Europe for 12 years, working in recruitment, delivering top talent for clients in emerging markets. Within his executive search career, he has held the roles of Client Partner, Country Manager - Poland and Business Development Director.

LES HEWLETTAUTOMOTIVE DIVISION DIRECTOR

With 15 years in the recruitment industry behind him, Les is an experienced recruitment director with a demonstrated history of growth of top and bottom-line proven across a number of highly technical industry sectors. In his role as Automotive Director, he is primarily responsible for business development, leadership and the strategic direction of the automotive division. Experienced in Executive Search, Contingency Recruitment, Technical Recruiting and Recruitment Process Outsourcing solutions, he manages a team of specialist consultants recruiting permanent and contract resource for the entire automotive product lifecycle.

Outside of the UK, Les works with Matchtech’s offices in Central Europe supporting clients with a market intelligence led response to changing industry trends.
