The group rearranged and restocked shelves. The Baptist Center Food Pantry received a $2,500 grant from Food Lion which was a great help in filling several shelves, but we still need canned meats, macaroni & cheese, crackers, pancake mix & syrup, and pasta & potato dinners. Movie night will be Sept. 28th showing God’s Not Dead at 6:30 p.m. World Hunger Sunday will be Oct. 12th. BETHEL: Dr. Jeff Porter began as Interim Pastor on Sept. 3rd. Bethel hosted the 2nd annual East Monbo Community Reunion on Sept. 13th. Members collected and delivered school supplies to Troutman Elementary in August. BEULAH: Men’s retreat at Caraway was Sept. 5-6th with eleven men participating. Women’s ministry luncheon was Sept. 6th. AWANA began Sept. 7th. Golden Harvesters enjoyed a cruise on the Catawba Queen on Sept. 12th. Sunday School open house for children was Sept. 14th. Ladies Night Out was Sept. 25th. The 6th annual golf tournament for missions will be Sept. 27th. Youth Pastor Marshall Quesinberry will preach on Sept. 28th. BRISTOL DRIVE: Dr. J. B. Parker, Jr., will be retiring on Sept. 28th from the pastorate but will be available for revivals. Homecoming was observed on Sept. 14th. CLEVELAND FIRST: Annual fall mountain trip will be Oct. 7th. Senior adult fellowship meal and entertainment will be Oct. 14th. Church had a booth at the Tomato Festival in September. Trunk or Treat will be held in October. COOLEEMEE FIRST: Busy summer for youth with Funday Mondays, VBS, a trip to Carowinds, a lock-in, movie trip, and concert. FBC participated in “A Call to Cooleemee” and ended the summer with an ice cream social. Youth will sponsor a Fall Festival in October. Home-coming will be celebrated on Oct. 5th at 10:30 a.m. CORNERSTONE: Men’s ministry cookout was Aug. 23rd. Youth back-to-school sleepover/campout was Aug. 23rd. Back-to-school Bash was Aug. 24th. Homecoming was Sept. 7th. Ladies salad supper was Sept. 8th. AWANA began on Sept. 14th. Rev. Josh Grizzle resigned as pastor on Sept. 21st; a farewell luncheon will be held Sept. 28th. Women’s fellowship will be Oct. 4th. FAIRVIEW: Provided “before open house dinner” for teachers at NIMS in August. Ladies of the church helped serve lunch to the fair workers on Sept. 1st. Dr. Steve Gouge provided entertainment for the senior adults on Sept. 10th. Spaghetti fundraiser lunch will be Sept. 28th. Men of the church will meet at King of the Sea on Oct. 2nd with Dale Beatty of Purple Hearts Home as speaker. Homecoming will be Oct. 5th with Dr. David Horton as guest speaker. Men’s fall fishing retreat at Caswell will be Oct. 8-11th. The mission fund barbecue will be Oct. 24-25th. Men’s prayer breakfast will be Oct. 26th. FAITH: “Connect Class” to find your niche began Sept. 14th. Senior Pioneers picnic was Sept. 19th. Back to Church Sunday was Sept. 21st. Members do prayer walks on Saturdays. Youth will attend the Big God Conference at Myrtle Beach on Dec. 31st-Jan. 1st. FELLOWSHIP: Participated in the Troutman parade this summer. Lonnie Josey spoke about his 22-day trip to Europe on July 6th. The annual church-wide picnic was July 12th. Danny Cartner is leading a Bible study on Sunday nights in Genesis. VBS was July 27-30th. Church provided drinks/desserts for fair workers on Sept. 4th. Fletcher Ridge Bluegrass Gospel Group concert was Sept. 21st. FORK: Worship and praise night with homemade ice cream and the 11th annual egg toss was Aug. 24th. New church vision/theme is “M3—Mandate, Movement, and Multiply—It’s in your DNA”. AWANA kick-off was Sept. 7th. Seniors luncheon was Sept. 15th. Disciple Now Weekend was Sept. 19-21st. High Attendance Day in Sunday School will be Nov. 2nd. FRONT STREET: “Pound the Pantry” at N.B. Mills School was held in August. AWANA began Sept. 7th. GROW fall retreat was Sept. 20th. Missions fair and catered meal was Sept. 21st. GRACE FELLOWSHIP: Provided drinks/desserts at the fair on Sept. 3rd. A lake fellowship was held Sept. 6th. Hosted a Beth Moore simul-cast on Sept. 13th for ladies. GREAT HOPE: Mary Jane Hoover spoke briefly about SYBA ministries on Sept. 7th. HEBRON: Participated in The Seven Project on Sept. 8-10th. Ladies Bible study began at the Iredell County Public Library on Sept. 9th and will be the second and fourth Tuesdays each month. Dr. Dan Goldberg with Chosen People Ministries was guest speaker on Sept. 14th. Joyful Seniors trip to the Amish community was Sept. 16th. IJAMES: Samaritan shoebox collections began in September. Study of Revelation continues on Sunday nights. The youth are active in community projects. JERUSALEM: Homecoming was Aug. 17th with Rev. Bob Whitaker as speaker, and The Montgomery Family provided special music. A “sing in” fellowship will be Oct. 10th. MONTICELLO: Youth Rally was Sept. 13th with Justin Wooledge as speaker. Music was provided by the Phillip Moore Family and a combined youth choir. OAKDALE: School supplies were collected for East Middle School. The VBS offering was sent to Operation Kid-to-Kid for wells in India. Mission Friends and CiA began again in September. Baptist Men visited the Billy Graham Library. Youth enjoyed a movie and pizza for this year’s kick-off and participated in See You at the Pole on Sept. 24th. PENINSULA: Josh Hunt led Equip 2014 on Sept. 26-27th. SOCIETY: WOM gave funds to the SYBA fair ministry. Children went to Lazy H Ranch on Sept. 14th. Pastor Jeff Holder has begun a Bible study fellowship on Sunday nights for grades 9-12. Pastor Holder is leading discipleship studies on Wednesday nights. Baptist Men have acquired a trailer and will equip it for ministry projects. SOUTHSIDE: Youth pool party was Aug. 24th after worship. WMU annual salad supper kick-off was Sept. 2nd. The 12th annual Joyful Hearts Homecoming with The Perry’s was Sept. 6th. Homecoming was Sept. 14th with Dr. Milton Hollifield as speaker. Sheila Raye Charles was guest speaker for Celebrate Recovery on Sept. 18th. Rev. Rusty Baker was guest speaker on Sept. 21st. Rev. Hal Greene, Associate Pastor, will be honored with a reception for his 20 years service on Sept. 28th. Youth retreat at Caswell will be Nov. 7-9th. STATESVILLE FIRST: Welcome to Dr. Roger Gilbert as Interim Pastor beginning Sept. 14th. Senior adult luncheon was Sept. 18th. Cook-out/campout for students and parents was Sept. 19th. Youth car wash/bake sale was Sept. 20th. Congratulations to Miss Melissa Wilson, Minister of Children & Families, upon her graduation in August earning her Master of Divinity in Missions & World Christianity. Medical equipment that had been collected was shipped to Guatemala. TROUTMAN: Early church service began again on Sept. 7th at 8:45 a.m. Barium Springs Big Group ministry was Sept. 9th. Christian comedian, Michelle Miller Harrington, was speaker on Sept. 17th. A blanket drive will be held in October for the homeless. Keenagers will go to Caswell on Oct. 6-8th. The 10th annual Festival of Tables will be Nov. 8th with Angie Shaw as guest speaker. TURRENTINE: Rev. Scott Schuyler has resigned as pastor as of September 14th to accept another pastorate. WATERMARK: Provided breakfast for teachers at Lakeshore Elementary on Aug. 20th and at Lakeshore Middle. Packs of Love ministry continues at Troutman Middle. A food drive for the ministry was held in August. On Sept. 7th, 52 youth participated in “The Amazing Scavenger Hunt”. New life groups began Sept. 14th. Chili cook-off will be Sept. 27th. Fall family fun day will be Oct. 26th at the Watermark house. There will be food, bounce house, corn hole, hayrides, and more. WESTERN AVENUE: We extend our sympathy to Rev. Philip McGaha on the death of his father in September. Community Ladies Night Out was Sept. 25th at the Upper Room. The 5th annual golf tournament to benefit Uganda missions will be Oct. 4th. Youth fall retreat at Camp Living Water will be Oct. 24-26th. Next food drive will be Nov. 30th.

Food Pantry We appreciate the donation Food Lion gave to the Baptist Center Food Pantry. The entire $2,500 was spent to help restock, but the shelves are NOT full! Please remember this is a year-round ministry, and the food CONSTANTLY needs to be replenished.

Almost 1,900 children received NEW toys last year from the SYBA Toy Store for Jesus AND 79 parents made decisions for Jesus!
