Post Excellence Award
The American Legion's Post Excellence Award has added new criteria. To qualify for the Post Excellence Award, a post is required to achieve excellence in four areas: membership, submission of the Consolidated Post Report (CPR), attaining a 90 percent renewal rate and community activity.
This week is the Red River Charity Softball Game. Fred Rogers and I will set up the table and Fred,
Stephanie Cleveland, Joanne Schumm, Delbert Parson and myself will work the table during the game.
We are starting to call members who have not yet renewed for this year.
Merry Main Street is December 7th. We have a booth reserved for that event.
Stephanie Cleveland has been making phone calls to all new members, this month she has called on 20
members.
Along with transfers we need to aggressively seek new members. With the changes made by National
to the service requirements we can recruit new members who served in the late 70’ though the 80’s
that were not eligible before
All members are asked to recruit one new member – It is not hard to do, when you are out and about at
work, church, or events and meet a veteran “Just Ask”

2nd Vice Commander Executive Committee Report
October 8, 2019
Officer contributions for the month of September 2019
1. Locked in date for Annual Dinner with Kevin Healy.
2. Received a copy of Kevin Healy’s discharge paperwork. Requested Kevin to provide me with his enlistment
paperwork but he doubts he has any such documentation. My next thought in helping Kevin is that we write to St
Louis to request a copy of his enlistment paperwork to determine what type of orders he was sent to basic training
under.
3. Discussed promotion of the Denton County and Collin County Marine Corps Ball with the Post Commander and
members of the Public Relations committee.
4. Called in to the September Executive Council Meeting to motion for the subsidization of member attendance to
the Annual Dinner.
5. Drafted Annual dinner save-the-date narrative with Ladies Auxiliary President
6. Confirmed and facilitated Jake Crater as the September speaker at the monthly membership meeting.
7. Participated in the POW/MIA remembrance ceremony at Simpson Park in Frisco, TX.

School Awards Program
This is a very rewarding program. It allows young students to interact with a veteran and to learn what it takes to become citizens of the highest quality. We are currently working with Corbell Elementary and have completed the first of three presentations. On November 11, 2019, we will be honoring our last year winners from Corbell Elementary at the Frisco ISD board meeting.
