FLEET

Suction excavation is the simple process where a vacuum-excavator creates an air flow from the vehicle fans to pull material into the catchment chamber via the intake hose. It is then stored here, ready for tipping. Operators are also equiped with a vast amount of air tools to assist the movement of materials from around buried utilities and pipe lines.

SUCTION EXCAVATIONCarney Construction is a family owned company that has been operating for over 30 years within the high end specialist reinforced concrete construction industry. We are Reading based providing us with excellent access to compete in the South East and beyond. WHO WE ARE

Motorway maintenance

New rig

We were called out on an emergency burst water main. Using our Vacuum excavation truck meant our client could excavate safely with the added benefit of removing water at the same time.

We were asked to attend a safety event by one of our clients, to show the capabilities of our rigs and how to correctly and safely operate and work alongside our team whist we are on site. This was a great day for all attendees, who had an extremely positive attitude. All agreed that the event was extremely beneficial to raise awareness of working alongside our suction excavation team.

We take the safety of everybody very seriously. All our trucks are fitted with side scan equipment to help keep other road users safer.

We are pleased to be able to offer our clients the new high tip vacuum excavator. This is ideal for highway maintenance work and where time and space is a real problem. This truck allows us to tip directly into muck away trucks and also grab trucks, this saves unnecessary plant movements on site and the need to stockpile spoil. This is also ideally suited for the more sensitive works where stockpiling waste is not an option. The ability to be able to tip directly into trucks is a clear advantage and will assist you in keeping a safe and spoil free work area, so reducing the site’s need for a large working area. The feedback we have had from our existing clients is excellent and the high tipping vac has become a highly sought after truck which is in great demand.

Another happy client proving the Suction Excavation is a real benefit, this was completed in under 3 hours safely with no service strikes. Our client was extremely pleased with the knowledge and expertise of our Suction Excavation Team.

We have recently been awarded a long term contract working on water main replacement and emergency bursts, due to our trucks having the capability of being able to remove water and sludge. Our client has agreed this method of excavation is by far the safest and most efficient when areas are full of water and sludge from damaged pipes, eliminating the need for traditional mechanical excavators. We are able to offer this service to all new and existing clients and we offer a 24hr emergency stand by and call out service.

Another happy client.Extension pipes were used here to reach the required depth, again proving how versatile the vac ex trucks really can be. The job was completed safely by our highly trained Suction Excavation Team.

As part of our commitment to Health and Safety we were recently involved in another safety stand down day with a few of our clients. This event proved to be a huge success, where we explained the safe working practices and the key safety features and requirements when working on or near our Suction Excavator team.

We are always available to all existing and new clients to assist and attend your safety events to help you understand the best practices to be adopted when using Suction Excavation.

We were recently tasked to remove ash from a recycling centre with our Suction Excavation trucks. This method was used to replace the traditional method of it being completed manually at great cost and a risk to employees. Now our client has found a much more efficient and safe way to complete this task without the need of men entering a confined space. We were able to run approximately 170 metres of hose to the required entrance point and remove the required material safely and without risk to employees. This method proved to be a 100% success and will now be the only method that our client uses in the future.

M25 maintenance works. Our left-hand tip truck, with an extra long reach proved to be invaluable to carry out this essential motorway maintenance project. We were able to excavate all the locations required and recycle the materials to backfill by tipping directly over the crash barrier. This method saved our client time and money as no other vehicles were required. Another excellent job completed ahead of time.

We were tasked to use suction/vacuum excavation to remove soil from around a concrete structure on the Dartford Toll crossing. This method was chosen as a non-invasive method of excavation, to save any damage to any part of the foundations.
