    RULES FOR THE CONDUCT OF EXAMINEES IN THE EXAMINATION HALL

    An examinee shall strictly follow the followingrules in the examination hall :

    1. An examinee shall not carry into his/her seatany book, notes or paper, mobile phone/pager,and equipment of similar nature, and exceptonly his/her Admit Card, valid Identity Card,pen, pencil, drawing instruments and non-programmable calculator.

    Tables, when permitted to be used by anexaminee, will be provided by the Institution.

    2. An examinee will be permitted to enter theexamination hall ten minutes before thecommencement of the examination, but shallnot be admitted to the examination hall afterhalf an hour from the commencement ofexamination.

    3. An examinee must check before using theanswerbook that the answerbook supplied tohim/her is numbered, bears IE perforationmark at the top right-hand corner, contains allthe pages in sequential order between thecovers, the staples for stitching are intact andthere is no defect in the answerbook.

    Answerbook, defective in any way, should be

    replaced before use. If, however, replacementis not possible, the invigilator should berequested to record the nature of defect onthe cover of the answerbook under his/hersignature and date.

    Use of defective answerbooks, not authenti-cated by the invigilator, shall be considered asa case of unfairmeans.

    4. An examinee is required to write his/hermembership number, roll number, subject ofthe examination and registration number in therespective spaces provided on the cover of the

    answerbook. If these details are not correctlyfilled-in, the answerbook will be rejectedautomatically.

    The name, signature or anything which maydisclose the identity of the examinee must notappear anywhere in the answerbook.

    5. An examinee must use English Language forall examinations.

    6. The answers should be numbered properlycorresponding to the serial number of thequestions. Examinees are required to use thepages of the answerbook serially leaving nopage blank.

    7. An examinee must not communicate with anyother examinee during the hours of

    examination. The Institution reserves the rightto take any action as may be deemed properwhen the examinee is detected during or afterthe examination in any one or more of thefollowing offences: (i) helping anotherexaminee or (ii) attempting to obtain unfairassistance or using unfairmeans or (iii) writingany objectionable or improper remarks in theanswerbooks or (iv) attempting to renderidentification of the answerbooks impossibleeither quoting false roll number or membershipnumber or registration number or intentionallyomitting the same or (v) detaching pages fromthe answerbook or (vi) replacement of the

    answerbook or (vii) writing on any materialother than the answerbook or(viii) impersonation or (ix) giving threat orusing any objectionable or improper remarksto anyone in the examination hall or(x) damaging the property in the examinationhall or (xi) any other misconduct.

    8. No part of answerbooks, drawing sheets, etcsupplied to an examinee in the examinationhall should be taken out by the examinee.

    9. No examinee shall be permitted to leave theexamination hall under any circumstances till

    half an hour is elapsed from the commence-ment of examination. Further, no examineeshall be permitted to leave finally theexamination hall without submitting his/heranswerbook until an hour is elapsed from thecommencement of the examination. Underunavoidable circumstances, an examinee may,with the permission of the invigilator, beallowed to leave the examination halltemporarily submitting his/her answerbook andthe question paper to the invigilator after theexpiry of not less than 30 minutes.

    10. Violation of any of the rules of examinations,as stated above, shall make an examinee liablefor penal measures and punishment as maybe decided by the Council of the Institution.

    11. Notwithstanding the issue of Admission Card,the Institution shall have the right, for anyreason which may appear sufficient, to cancelthe admission of any examinee whether before,during or after the examination.

    12. The District Court at Alipore, 24-Parganas(South) shall have the exclusive jurisdiction inmatters arising out of conduct of InstitutionExaminations and / or penal measures or anydecision of the Council of the Institution givingor conferring punishment to any examinee.
