Kickout
1 DefinitionThe Kickout feature enables the subscriber to enter the directory numbers of undesir-able callers into a screening list. Call requests from subscribers whose directory num-bers are in the screening list are rejected. All other calls are switched through. Thedirectory numbers can be placed in the screening list by means of a subscriber proce-dure performed either during or shortly after an undesirable call.
Operator benefits– An attractive feature to differentiate from the competition
Subscriber benefits– This feature prevents calls from undesirable subscribers

2 Mode of operationWhen a subscriber has authorization for the feature Kickout , the directory number (DN)of each incoming call is compared with the numbers entered in the kickout (screening)list. If the directory number is on the list, the call request is rejected.
Subscriber controlled input is used to automatically transfer the directory number of anincoming call to the screening list provided for this purpose.
This can be done at various times:• during an active call• within 20 seconds after the caller has gone on-hook• following an incomplete call setup
The subscriber controlled input is made after the caller has gone on-hook before thecalled party answers (ringing interrupt). In this case the called party must enter theprocedure for the Kickout feature within 20 seconds after the called party has goneon-hook.
The screening list can only accept complete directory numbers (country code (if appli-cable), trunk prefix + local area code + subscriber number) up to a maximum length of20 digits.
The directory number of the incoming call, which is compared with the entries in thescreening list, can be provided by the network node or by the calling subscriber’s termi-nal (ISDN). The number provided by the calling subscriber’s terminal is preferred. Thispermits a more accurate, subscriber-specific evaluation of the screening list.
The calling party’s directory number is entered into the screening list even if he or shehas activated CLIR.

Screening list
The screening list is allocated on a directory-number basis. A maximum of 10 directorynumbers can be entered. If the user enters an 11th number, the oldest number on thelist is overwritten.
Subscriber controlled input can be used to delete the entire list.
Traffic measurement
The requests for kickout by means of subscriber controlled input and the number of callsrejected on the basis of the screening list are recorded by traffic measurement.
Capacity
Within a network node, 5% of subscribers may have authorization for this feature. Amaximum of 5% of authorized subscribers can use the feature simultaneously.

3 Subscriber controlled inputThe feature can be administrated by subscriber controlled input.
For the subscriber procedures, see:• Analog subscriber• ISDN subscriber• GeoCENTREX
Access code
The access code for subscriber controlled input consists of a maximum of 6 charactersor, for GeoCENTREX subscribers, a maximum of 5 characters. It can be formed fromthe symbols ★ , # and the service code (SC) with the digits 0 ... 9. The operator canspecify the character strings for the access code.
Differences in the case of pulse dialing
The selected digits are not obligatory; other digits can be input (depending on the exist-ing numbering plan).– 1111 at the beginning of an input in place of ★
– 1112 at the beginning of an input in place of #– 1113 at the beginning of an input in place of ★ #– ★ as a disconnecting signal after the service code is not relevant– # after the subscriber controlled input is not relevant

Acknowledgments after subscriber controlled input
The following tones, announcements and display texts are examples and can be admin-istrated by the operator. The display texts can be changed to suit individual projects.
The subscriber controlled input can be acknowledged by:• Tones
– ringing tone– acceptance tone– subscriber busy tone or number unobtainable tone (NU)
• Announcements (only analog)– subscriber controlled input successful– subscriber controlled input unsuccessful– feature is already activated– feature is not activated– feature is not available– wrong input
• Display texts (only in ISDN)– wrong input– not authorized– request rejected– successful– unsuccessful– not available

4 Call charge registrationCall charge registration is possible with:– Automatic Message Accounting with Individual Call Charge Registration– Pulse Metering– Message Detail Recording (MDR) for GeoCENTREX– Flat rate
Automatic Message Accounting with Individual Call Charge Registration (AMA) andPulse Metering can be combined. One or more call charge pulses can be generated forPulse Metering.
Charges for feature input and feature usage
The charges for operator inputs, successful subscriber controlled input and featureusage are assigned to the subscriber.
The following call charge registration is possible:– Facility input by operator (FAIO)– Facility input by subscriber (FAIS)– Facility usage (FAU)
5 AdministrationThe operator can perform all administration functions on the NetManager by means ofuser-friendly applications or MML commands.
