• 4. Mobile phone communication can make bad behaviour easier to organise.

• 5. Students may communicate answers to one another or receive outside help in examinations.

• 6. Schools that allow mobile phones report that many phones are lost or stolen, causing a lot of trouble for the school office and the Discipline Committee.

Arguments for allowing mobile phones in school:

• 1. The majority of students and a lot of parents support the idea. Teachers are not strongly against it.

• 2. Neighbouring schools allow mobile phones—though some have reported problems (see point 6 above).

• 3. It's very difficult to stop students bringing phones to school.• 4. Mobile phones are now a part of everyday life.• 5. Many parents like to be able to call their sons and

daughters and feel they are safer with a phone.• 6. Society and the school encourage the development of

information technology.
