In order to live a blessed and godly lifestyle we must first learn to fearthe Lord. In fact, the Word of God says in Psalms 112:1, Blessed is

the man who fears the Lord . . .

Fear in this case isnt negative. It means a holy reverence for ourheavenly Father. When we fear God it means we worship Him inobedience to His Word.

In life, circumstances may not always go how we plan, which is whywe must commit ourselves to His Word and meditate on it day and

night. When we delight ourselves in His Word, it will lead us to livingthe victorious, overcoming life.

In this teaching, Dr. Betty R. Price, instructs us on how to live a God-fearing lifestyle, as well as how to:

    Be wholeheartedly for God.

Be what God called us to be.

    Be committed to His Word.

Be a temple of God and live a holy life.

    Recognizing the Real Enemy

It is not Gods will for any of His family to be poor, sick

or die prematurely. Thats Satans will for peoples lives. Many

believers are defeated in their Christian walk because they dont

realize there is an enemy working to get them off of Gods track.Satans mode of operation has not changed. He continues to use

the same mind game that he used on Eve in the Garden of Eden

(Genesis 3:1). We are going to have to recognize his deceptive

ways and stand against them with the Word of God.

Though the way the enemy comes against believers can occur

through circumstances of life, our battle is clearly spiritual. As

Christians, we are engaged in a titanic struggle with the forces

of darkness. It is essential that we know the battleground that

we are ghting on and the enemy that is opposing us. In order tobe successful in warfare, we need to know our weapons and the

terrain in which we are engaged in battle. The enemy wants to

destroy Jesus, but he cannot get to Jesus. Therefore, he will try

to get to us because we are ambassadors for Christ; we are the

representatives of the Kingdom of God.

We are not glorifying Satan when we talk about him. We

are exposing him for who he really is. Many people do not even

believe there is such a thing as Satan. In society, we have made

a cartoon character out of him. You see him in a red suit with a

long tail, pitchfork, and horns. When we see him in the movies,

he is made out to be some sort of joke. But he does exist, and he is

winning far too many battles when it comes to the family of God.

Whether you know it or not, you can do something about him.

Satan will devour you with sickness, fear, poverty, disease,

warfare, bloodshed, accidents anything he can. Once you

become aware of whom he is, and how he operates, and you

become aware that he is already whipped and defeated, then you

will stop allowing him to lord it over you. He will be out of

business as far as you are concerned. Know that the devil and thedemons are already defeated.

    Christians need to stop

    blaming the heavenly Father

    for their misfortunes it is

the devil who is the problem.

    You have authority over

    Satan and his demon forces.

Praise God, you are on top!

You are a winner! Those evilforces can no longer lord it

over you once you nd out

who you are and nd out that

    they are defeated!

    If you are not

    a Christian and

    would like to

    become one, pray

    the following

    prayer:

    Dear God in Heaven,

Tank you or sendingyour Son Jesus Christto destroy the power o

Satan over my lie. I acceptJesus now as my personalSavior and Lord, and I chooseto turn away rom the sins omy past to a renewed lie inJesus.

You said that i I wouldconess with my mouth theLord Jesus and believe in myheart that you raised Himrom the dead, that I wouldbe saved. I believe Jesus diedor my sins and that you

raised Him rom the dead ormy benefit. Heavenly Father,I thank you or the gif osalvation and or acceptingme now as your child.

    here are Christians who

    have been exposed to

    the Word of God for

    quite some time, and

they still do not have victory

in their lives. Is it the Words

fault? No, it is the peoples

fault. If I fail, it is my fault

that I do. God has made

    everything available that you

and I need to win, but it is up

to us to do the winning.

    Ephesians 6:11-12 says:

11 Put on the whole armor of

God, that you may be able

    to stand against the wiles

    of the devil.

12 For we do not wrestle

against flesh and blood, but against principalities,

    against powers, against the

    rulers of the darkness of

    this age, against spiritual

    hosts of wickedness in the

    heavenly places.

Notice what verse 11 says:Put on the whole armor of God

that you may be able to stand

against the wiles of the devil.

Paul is talking to us, not to

God. He is not saying, Lord,

    clothe them with your armor.

Paul says, You put it on!

    The word wilescomes from

    the Greek word methodia, and

    it means deceits or deceptions.

Satan will try to deceive you

and trick you in any way he

can. He will try to get your

    attention on the things around

you so that he can then

    govern your life. Most people

    operate by the circumstances

    of life, even some Christians,

    unfortunately. It is a big

    temptation to be governed

    by the circumstances, but the

Bible tells us not to yield to

    temptation.

I do not deny the existence

    of the circumstances, but what

I do is deny their right to rule

my life. Jesus Christ told methat whatever I desire in my

heart and believe that I have

received when I pray, I will have

(Mark 11:24). He told me that

if I would say to the mountain

to be removed and cast into

the sea, and not doubt in my

heart, but believe that thosethings which I say would

come to pass, I would have

    whatsoever I say (Mark 11:23).

    I know that being victorious

    over the circumstances is

within the perfect will of God

for my life, because the Bible

lets me know that God wantsme to be a winner.

Paul tells us to put on

the whole armor of God so

    that we can stand against

    the deceptions of the devil,

    which implies that the devil

    exists. There are many

    academicianseven some

    Christianswho believe there

is no such thing as a personal

    devil. God believes in the

devil. It would seem that if

God believes in Satan, then we

    8/32

    surely ought to believe that

    he exist too.

    The word wrestle in

    verse 12 implies a struggle,

    contention, and hostilities.

It also implies that there isan opponent.

    As I have traveled

    through different parts of

    the world, I have discovered

    that people are

    basically the

    same everywhere.

I found good andbad in all groups

    of people. People

    are the same

    because it is the

    same devil who

    is causing the

    worlds turmoil.

    However, he

    cannot do his

    dirty work without

    the cooperation

    of a person. By

    the same token,

    God cannot do

    His good work

    without the cooperation of a

person. This is the way Godhas designed the system to

    operate, and He cannot violate

    His own creation.

    Do you think that God

would depend upon us to get

    the Gospel outwe who are

    sometimes on and sometimes

off, petty, jealous, and full of

strifeif He did not have to?

    But God has designed the

system that way, and He cannot

do His work in the earth realm,

except through yielded vessels.Satan cannot do his evil works

    either, except through yielded

    vessels, whether knowingly or

    unknowingly. Satan cannot do

    what he wants

    to do without

    men, because

    if he could,he would not

    depend upon us

    either. We are

    the determiners

    of whether good

    or evil prevails.

    We have the

    choice to either

    side with evil or

    side with good.

    There is a

    warfare going

    on out there in

    the spirit world,

    and Satan is

    trying to keep your blessings

from you. You have to maintainthe tenacity of a lion. You have

to make up your mind that,

sink or swim, live or die, come

hell or high water, here I stand

on Gods Word, and I will stand

until I get what I want. -EIF

Even with all the Bible knowledge that is prevalent in theworld today, there is still a lot of misunderstanding and

misinformation concerning the Third Person of the Holy

Trinity the Blessed Holy Spirit. Is the Holy Spirit a What? or

a Who? And how can I get this Power Force to work in my

life to put me over? These questions and many more on

the Holy Spirit are addressed in Apostle Prices book, The

Holy Spirit: The Helper We All Need.

In this extensive study on the Holy Spirit, Apostle Price covers

the full-spectrum of the power, work and influence of the

Holy Spirit and how Christians can put this mighty Helper to

work in their lives to be victors and not victims in life.

    WEIGHT LOSSVICTORY:

    Deborah &

    David Taylor

DAVIDS STORY:I was an overweight, unhealthyperson with diabetes, high cholesterol, andhigh blood pressure. Early in 2013, my doctortold me I needed to lose a lot of weight. I wasat the time 283 pounds. I cut back and lost 17pounds. I thought I was doing good. When Isaw my doctor again in January 2014, he goton my case. He said, you need to lose more

weight. Your A1C (diabetic test) is higher

    than it was before.

My wife had already said come January 1,2014, we were going to lose weight. Initially,my goal was to get down to 230 pounds. OnceI got to 230 pounds, my wife said you can goto 220 pounds, once I got to 220 pounds my

wife said you can go down to 210. I thoughtweighing 215 pounds was fine, but the nextthing I knew, I had gone down to 202 pounds

by June 2014. I was a diabetic, my A1C(diabetic test) at one time was 10.1 (high), andnow its 5.8 (pre-diabetic), 5.6 is non-diabetic.2 tenths of a point from being completelynormal. My BMI (body mass index) was 38.4and now its 27.4 (normal is 25). All of mycholesterol levels are normal. Praise the Lord!

By May 2014, I no longer neededmedication for diabetes. Ive been off

medication for about a year now. PraiseGod! Im never going back on it because Iwill continue to eat right. My doctor wascompletely blown away when he saw me. Mylab results were awesome. In August 2013, I

weighed 283 pounds. My current weight is203; thats an 80-pound weight lost.

I use to wear a size 52-54 suits with a shirtsize of 20 inches and my waist was 46 inches. Now my suit size is 44, shirt size is 17 inchesand my waist is now 36 inches.

I no longer have sleep apnea, thesnoring is also gone and I sleep very sound andpeaceful at night.

I never thought I would ever lose thismuch weight. Tanks to God and my wifefor encouraging me. I was successful and I feel

    awesome.

It was our faith in God that brought usthrough to be victorious. God has given usthese temples and we need to take care ofthem. Mark 11:24 says:Terefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe

that you receive them, and you will have them.

    ***

Deborahs story: I was an emotional eater. In 2003, I lost 100 pounds, but by 2008 itslowly started coming back on, and by 2013,95 percent of my weight loss had come back.I was really disappointed that I allowed myselfto gain this weight back.

My determination and faith in God wasmy motivation to start on this journey becauseI knew in my heart I was going to lose this

weight again. I love when Apostle Price teaches

on Fail-proof Living. I could listen to itover and over again. Tat series was life-changing for me.

Second Peter 1:5-10 says, But also forthis reason, giving all diligence, add to

your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,to knowledge self-control, to self-controlperseverance, to perseverance godliness,to godliness brotherly kindness, and to

brotherly kindness love. For if these things areyours and abound, you will be neither barrennor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord

Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things isshortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgottenthat he was cleansed from his old sins. Terefore,

brethren, be even more diligent to make your calland election sure, for if you do these things youwill never stumble.

I always knew I wasgoing to lose the weightagain, but I didnt knowexactly when. In 2013, theHoly Spirit let me knowthat I was ready. So, I told

the Lord that January 1,2014, was going to be myand my husbands year toget healthy.

Philippians 4:13 becameour mantra: I can do allthings through Christ whostrengthens me.I believed inmy heart we could do this and were ready.

We changed the way we ate, cut all thebad sugars, white starches, bad carbs, and friedfoods.

Te fruits we ate with low sugar included:blackberries, blueberries, boysenberries, strawberries, kiwi, half of a banana, andGranny Smith apples. Veggies: spinach, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, carrotsasparagus, Brussel sprouts, green beans,

collards, mustards. Good sugars: Yacon syrup(good for diabetics), agave (very little) andstevia.

We prayed together, encouraged eachother every morning, and congratulated eachother for every pound lost. We now exercisetwo to three days a week, and plan meals andeat together to make sure we stay on track. Wehave each others back. My goal was to lose

weight to be healthy, and fit into all of my old

clothes. Ialso wanted to be an example of what God cando when you trust Him.

On January 1, 2014, I weighed 243pounds. My dress size

was a 20, and my skirtand pants size was a 22.My current weight is 156pounds, dress size is 10-12.My BMI was 43 and todayis 26. My cholesterol levelsare all normal. Praise God!

My husband and Inow have more energy.

We dont get out of breathwhen walking, getting upout of a chair is easier, andgetting up off the floorafter dusting is awesome.

Our future goals are tomaintain our weight loss, and add more days

to our exercise routine to get our bodies moretoned and fit, eat 100 percent organic whenpossible, make more time to cook deliciousmeals and cut back more on the salt. We lookforward to going on vacations together andenjoying life to its fullest.

We give God all the praise, honor andglory for what He has done for us. We cantthank Him enough. Glory to God! What Hes

done for us He will do the same for anyonewho puts their faith in Him. Hebrews 11:1says, Now faith is the substance of things hoped

    13/32

little over five years ago, my son and

I obeyed God and made the life-

    altering trek from Atlanta, Georgia

to Los Angeles, California. Relocating had

its moments of adjustment with new things

to learn and embrace. One of the things Itruly enjoyed getting acclimated to was the

    abundance of California fruit trees.

They remind me of the story of the

    Israelites in Deuteronomy 8:6-10 Therefore

you shall keep the commandments of the

LORD your God, to walk in His ways and

to fear Him. 7 For the LORD your God is

bringing you into a good land, a land of

brooks of water, of fountains and springs,

that flow out of valleys and hills; 8a land

of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees

and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and

honey; 9a land in which you will eat bread

without scarcity, in which you will lack

nothing; a land whose stones are iron and

out of whose hills you can dig copper. 10

When you have eaten and are full, then youshall bless the LORD your God for the good

land which He has given you.

Having such a wealth of fruit at ones

disposal quickly reminded me of what

fruit and provision are akin to worship.

Verse 2 of the same chapter says, And you

shall remember that the LORD your God

led you all the way these forty years in the

wilderness, to humble you and test you, toknow what was in your heart, whether you

would keep His commandments or not.My

friend, it is hard, if not impossible to truly

    worship our God without remembering

His goodness, mercy and Word. To

remember and meditate on the things of

God is a form of worship. God can use fruit

to correlate the characteristics of faith and

    His Kingdom through worship.

    APPLES

In Psalm 17:7-8, David tells us:

    7 Show Your marvelous lovingkindness

    by Your right hand,

O You who save those who trust in You

From those who rise up against them.

    8Keep me as the apple of Your eye;

Many would call King David the chief

worshiper, and rightfully so. He knew a

thing or two about how to reach the heartof God. According to Urban Dictionary.

com, in Old English, the pupil of the eye

(the round, dark center) was called the

apple. It was thought that the pupil was a

round object much like an apple (a piece

of fruit). When you look at someone, their

reflection appears in your pupil. So if

someone is the apple of your eye, he or

she is someone that you look at a lot andenjoy seeing. If this doesnt reflect (pun

    completely intended) the relationship

between God and His children, then I

dont know what does. Stay in Gods face

in worship and you will indeed remain the

    apple of His eye.

    GRAPES

    Grapes grow in clusters. Whether

seedless or seeded, you will not find

grapes growing one or two on a vine.

They grow in bunches. I am sure there is

a horticultural or metabolic reason why,

but I will focus on the spiritual type and

shadow here. Grapes, like true worshipers

tend to flock together. Why? Because they

are the ones whom God seeks (John 4:23).So those who are on His radar are the ones

who are tightly knit together and who

grow together. And anyone who has ever

plucked a ripe, juicy grape from the vine

knows that they are not easily separated.

And so it is with our Father. When we stay

connected to Him in worship we are not

    easily separated from Him.

    RASPBERRIES & BLACKBERRIES

    Raspberries and blackberries are also

called aggregate fruit. This means they

are made up of hundreds of little fruits.

Each one contains a seed. As worshipers,

we should be walking in an abundance

of fruit (of the Spirit!). According to

    A

Galatians 5:22-23, The fruit of the Spirit is

    love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness,

    goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-

control. Against such there is no law.Show

me a person who is quick to walk in the

fruit of the Spirit and I will show you a

true worshiper. We as worshipers are anamalgamation of little fruits; all of us made

pleasantly sweet, possessing an aroma that

    is appealing to the world.

    LEMONS

Having lived the majority of my adult

life in Atlanta, Georgia, I know a thing or

two about its hot, sticky and humid climate.

The number one way to refresh oneself

(aside from cold ice water), is lemonade.

There is something about a cold glass of

    fresh-squeezed lemonade that makes the

Southern heat bearable. The one fruit that is

the sourest has the ability to refresh. Water,

lemons and sugar can make the sour, sweet.

The same applies to our worship lifestyle.

In scripture, water is often referred to asa type of refreshing. So when life throws

the proverbial lemons, make Holy Ghost

lemonade through the washing of the water

    of the Word (Ephesians 5:26).

    RAISINS

As you know, raisins are grapes

that have dried. The unique thing about

raisins is that their life span supersedes

that of other fruits. This is because the

maturation process from grape to raisin isbased on dehydration, largely stemming

from exposure to the sun. Through this

process, we can see how God can take the

heat of life, the exposure of the elements

    (otherwise known as circumstances) and

the compression of time, to birth a new

life in the grape. This is proof positive of

the old adage, it aint over until God says

its over. Like that grape, when we exposeourselves to the SON, we can find new life

and grow sweeter just like that raisin. Job

8:7 says it best: Though your beginning was

small, yet your latter end would increase

    abundantly.

As you grow in the Word, always

remember to cultivate a climate and

    atmosphere of worship. -EIF

Throughout the scriptures many other names and descriptions are used to portray

the wonder of our God. He is called our rock and fortress. He provides security

and strength for His people. He is called a mighty warrior. He has conquered

is merciful and good. He is a God of love and compassion. God is our heavenly

We have been commanded to walk in Gods authority, but so many Christiansare walking around defeated and powerless, forgetting that God made them inHis image. God has delegated to His children power, dominion and authority.Authority is having the power or right to give orders, make decisions andenforce obedience, and dominionmeans to rule and reign. Gods design wasfor Christians to be rulers of earth.

It was not the heavenly Fathers will for His children to die. His will is for

omans 1:16 says, For I am

not ashamed of the gospel of

Christ, for it is the power of

    God to salvation for everyone

who believes, for the Jew rst and also

for the Greek. You receive this powerwhen you receive Jesus Christ as your

Lord and Savior. We all have it. If we are

Christians and are born again, then we all

    have this power.

    Most Christians dont realize what

they have with this power because so

many dont know what the Word of God

says regarding their rights in Christ. But

glory be to God that we are everythingthat the Word of God says we are. We just

need to learn how to apply His Word to our

    lives.

    Ephesians 1:15-22 says,

Therefore I also, after I heard

of your faith in the Lord Jesus

and your love for all the saints,

do not cease to give thanks foryou, making mention of you in

my prayers: that the God of our

Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of

glory, may give to you the spirit

of wisdom and revelation in the

knowledge of Him, the eyes of your

    understanding being enlightened;

that you may know what is the hope

of His calling, what are the riches

of the glory of His inheritance

in the saints, and what is the

    exceeding greatness of His power

    toward us who believe, according

to the working of His mighty power

which He worked in Christ when

He raised Him from the dead and

seated Him at His right hand inthe heavenly places, far above all

    principality and power and might

and dominion, and every name that

is named, not only in this age but

also in that which is to come. And

He put all things under His feet,

and gave Him to be head over all

things to the church, which is His

body, the fullness of Him who lls

    all in all.

This is the power that we have

that we may know what is the exceeding

greatness of His power toward us whobelieve. This is the power that raised

Jesus from the dead, according to Romans

8:11, But if the Spirit of Him who raised

Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who

raised Christ from the dead will also give

life to your mortal bodies through His

Spirit who dwells in you. This Spirit can

heal your body, or do whatever you need

at any given time. The power is availableto you.

However, if we dont know that, then

we cant ever use itwe go around

powerless and that is the way too many

Christians live. They live like they dont

have anything, or like they dont amount

to much. They live with low self-esteem.

They dont think about who they are in

    Jesus Christ.Ephesians 3:14, For this reason I

bow my knees to the Father of our Lord

Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family

in heaven and earth is named, that He

would grant you, according to the riches

of His glory, to be strengthened with might

is what the church is lackingthe power

of the Holy Spirit. After you have been

born again and receive salvation through

Jesus then you receive the Holy Spirit

to help you live the overcoming and

victorious lifeHe is our power source.Ephesians 3:16 goes on to say, that

He would grant you, according to the

riches of His glory, to be strengthened

with might through His Spirit in the inner

man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts

through faith. The way Christ dwells in

your heart through faith is by the Word of

God. You have to get the Word of God

into your heart, so when the circumstancesof life come against you you will react

according to the Word and not the esh.

Romans 10:17 says, So then faith

comes by hearing and hearing by the

Word of God. The more Word you get

inside of you the more power you are

going to have. That power is faith in the

Holy Spirit. You cant learn enough about

faith. It is the most important thing that

you could ever learn because that is what

    pleases God.

Hebrews 11:6 says, Without faith it is

impossible to please God. So this power

will be at work in you if you allow it. Youhave to allow the power. You have to

receive the Holy Spirit, by faith. When

    you receive Christ you automatically

have the power of Christ, but you still

need the Holy Spirit to help you live this

    overcoming victorious life.

It is an awesome life to live once you

really know what you have, what you are

and what you can do in Christ. We are notpowerless and we are not helpless. God

has provided it all in Jesus Christ, but it is

up to us to individually get into the Word

of God and learn who we are and what we

have. This is just not some book that we

have lying around and read from time to

time. When you read the Bible you are

reading life into your life. -EIF

As a father of two adult sons, surrogate

grandfather of 6 and a minister to

thousands of kids over 35-year period,

Ive seen my share of disagreements,

conict and hurt feelings. Thats to be

expected among children. My response to

these problems varies on a case by case basis.

However, my goal stays the same. That goal

is to equip the children with the necessary

problem-solving tools to independentlyresolve the issue in a productive manner.

    Benjamin Franklin said, The greatest

gift you can give your children are the

roots of responsibility and the wings of

    independence.

Scripture tells us in Proverbs 22:6 Train

up a child in the way he should go, And when

he is old he will not depart from it.Of course,

our number one area of training should be

the spiritual, but we have to also prepare

    them for the natural.

The following Six Steps to Problem

Solving are the heart of how we should thinkwhen resolving a problem. As parents its

our job to teach children how to be procient

    problem-solvers.

    Teaching Kids to BeProblem-Solvers

    Pare

    ntingMatters

    By Elder Jon Carr

I encourage you to incorporate these

steps with your family. Families function

successfully when they are adept at problem-

solving. Solving problems together can be a

rewarding and joyful experience, a chance to

grow and to deepen family relationships and

an important way to reduce family conflict.

    -EIF

1.Identify the Problem:The first step toward resolving

a problem is recognizing that it exists.

2.Understand the Problem:Problems often have parts

or specific details that need to be addressed.

    3.Agree upon a solution:Everyone involved in the

    problem-solving process participates in brainstorming

possible solutions and in choosing the best one.

4.Make a plan:A plan of action is then agreed upon,

determining who is going to do what and when.

    5.

Follow the plan:Everyone does his or her part based

on the agreements made for the plan of action.

6.Evaluate the results:This is the time to evaluate whether

the problem was fully solved, and to determine whether

more work is required at any of the first 5 steps.

    Q&AwithApostle and Dr. Price

Q: How can one pay tithes if they are

burdened down with debt? Is it okay to pay

a certain percentage less than 10 percentuntil you are able to tithe 10 percent?

    First, use self-control and self-discipline

to stop buying things, adding onto charge

accounts, getting new charge accounts, and

buying a lot of things you see and want. Limit

yourself to buying necessities in order to get

to the place where you have enough bills out

of the way in order to have enough money to

    tithe.

Begin giving what you can and make

a commitment to increase that amount as it

becomes possible. There is a price to pay, and

you may not be ready and willing to pay that

price. But it works, and I am a living witness

of it. It works! Giving your way out of debt

is Gods principle and does not make sense

according to man. However, I can testify that

    it works.
