Annual Report2010

A Letter from ThaneOver the past few years we have developed a steady growth in the number of families who belong to the Zoo, and naturally, as a result, we have a higher percentage of members visiting throughout the year. This is particularly heartening, because not a day passes that somebody doesn’t stop me out on the Zoo grounds to mention something they like about our Zoo. Many say they love getting closer to animals, others really appreciate all the changes we are making to improve the Zoo, and some just like parking in the shade of our new solar panels.

Our goal is to “inspire every visitor with wildlife, every day,” and we work hard to do just that. We have more animal shows and random animal encounters than ever at the Zoo. The result is that the Cincinnati Zoo is a much more active experience for our visitors, as well as for our animals. Whether it is the lemurs leaping, the gibbons brachiating, or our two young male cougars exploring their great new exhibit, there are dozens of opportunities every day to see our animals doing what they do best, and to learn more aboutwhat we do to keep them happy and healthy.

So, my thanks go to you for belonging to the Cincinnati Zoo.We earn our stripes every day of the year, and you are a big partof our success.
