Three separate events may be distinguished in the GOES and RHESSI light-curves with start times:E1: 07:30 UTE2: 07:39 UTE3: 08:00 UT
Events 1 and 2 are quite impulsiveeven in the GOES data
Event 3 is more gradual and of longer duration
Culgoora radio data• Two type II bursts were observed;(1) DRIFTING: 180 - 25 MHZ, 0739 UT-0750 UT;SHOCK SPEED ~550 Km/s(2) DRIFTING: 100 - 35 MHZ, 0748 UT-0757 UT; SHOCK SPEED ~ 850 Km/s
19-Jan 20:00UT - 20-Jan 07:59 UT
From fplasma = 9√ne kHz, heights of first detection are h1 ~ 2. 105 km → t1 ≥ 6.5 min
h2 ~ 3.105 km → t2 ≥ 6 min
Thus by relating to the event start times, burst #1 is associated with E1 and the fasterburst #2 with E2 – burst #2 probably overtakes and merges with the burst #1 shock
