Set lists are sprinkled with covers by Grover Washington,

Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Freddie Hubbard, and other

selections depending upon your audience.

While the group performs mostly engaging instrumental

music, Skye Island also features splashes of bluesy vocals.

Who are the Seasoned Professional Musicians?The current line up of this dynamic band highlights experienced performers. Meet composer, keyboardist, and musical director Michael Talley who’s enjoyed playing with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Eddie Money, Denis Coffey, and Earl Klugh.

Drummer, and master time keeper, Paul Price had an International #1 hit

with Broken Yoyo Records.

Gardell Floyd holds down the low end and has studied with master bassists Lamont Johnson, and Chuck Rainy of Steely Dan fame.

Saxophonist Robert Reeves played national

stages with Mitch Ryder, Tania Maria, Leslie Gore, the Temptations, Buddy Rich Band,

and has won four Detroit Metro Music Awards.

Percussionist Roberto Warren has performed with a multifude of accomplished

Motor City bands and artists including performances at the Ford Detroit Jazz

Festival and the Toronto Forum Ampitheatre.

Skye Island started with original music in the late 90’s attracting Metro Detroit’s supremely talented musicians. The bands founder and leader is composer, guitarist, vocalist, and producer Daron Powers known for his nationally obscure recording “Baseball Hero’s” widely played on Detroit’s WJR in the 80’s. Seriously!
