About Will HusseyWill Hussey is an experienced teacher, author and engaging presenter, who has devoted 20 years to facilitating creative thinking, teaching and learning. He’s best described as ‘a little bit odd’ (but in a good way). After spending several years hypnotizing people into thinking they were chickens, he decided it was time to put his talents to good use. He now specializes in making people tick – brilliantly!

Will has completed three London marathons and the Snowdon marathon. He’s vowed ‘never again,’ again. He is a black belt in karate and has a wife and two children that don’t take him too seriously. Embedding growth mindset in your school from

SuperStars and Ignite+Inspire bring to you:

Bringing together exceptional School Leaders… across South West England and South Wales.

Nice Words about Will“Will is a fine orator, and creative and winning presenter, who can turn his hand to a wide range of improvement situations...”

Sally Williams, Headteacher, Stanground St. John’s CofE Primary School, Peterborough

“What a wonderful alternative to the stultifying predictabilities of WALT and WILF! These activities help bring mastery-oriented learning back in to a performance-oriented curriculum.”

Professor Barry Hymer

“Thank you for your truly inspirational work... we are very grateful to have had you work with our children.”

Rosanne Tomlin, Kingsbury Green Primary School, Brent

This workshop takes our core messages of happiness, flourishing,

resilience & personal responsibility and looks at embedding

positivity in the classroom.

Most teachers recognise the value of fostering positive intrinsic

learning behaviours and many ‘get’ that growth mindsets are

crucial. But there’s more to it than knowing what ‘perseverance,’

means. Crafting a growth mindset culture requires a little

introspection and an alternative perspective.

‘Cultivating a Growth Mindset’ focuses on four key elements:

‘Goldilocks,’ learningLearning physically changes the brain. An understanding of

how the brain is wired and the cultivation of neural connections

informs and refines classroom practice. Effective teaching and

learning can only take place with just the right amount of support

and facilitation. The session exposes the myth of the ‘EUREKA!’

moment, and considers scaffolding for success. Less, is

sometimes more.

The essential stages of learningLearning anything is a progression – adopting a Growth Mindset

significantly benefits the rate and extent of that progression.

Teachers and pupils must have a shared understanding of the

distinctly different stages involved in order to develop security –

and ultimately mastery.

Empowering partners with an effective model for learning, and

associated assessment tools helps to perpetuate progress.

Sharing teaching and learningAuthentic learning is, literally, a conscious struggle. As such, pupils

must take ownership of their education and make the effort to

engage with teaching. Because of a host of peripheral factors, this

doesn’t always come easily.

Children can be encouraged to develop and maintain markedly

greater focus by adhering to simple routines and practices

embedded within the classroom.

Creating creativesWhat is creativity and how do we benefit from it? Developing the

ability to think differently, greatly improves our ability to solve

problems and craft solutions. Creativity manifests itself in different

ways, and benefits from a conducive classroom culture.

By incorporating simple adaptations, additions and omissions to

school life, teaching and learning can be given extra breathing

space. Small differences can empower teachers and learners to

enjoy pursuing their potential.

Embedding Growth Mindset in your School

Best of all, it’s thought-provoking and bags of fun.

The Barn at Berkeley

Hensol Castle

Nestling on the edge of the Cotswolds, in the heart of Berkeley Vale, The Barn at Berkeley is a breath taking Cotswold stone venue, lovingly restored and full of distinctive charm and character.

Set in 185 acres of beautiful Gloucestershire countryside, The Barn at Berkeley is a privately run, family business. The land, originally part of the historic Berkeley Estate, has been in the Cullimore family for over 75 years.

As you would expect with a 17th Century stately home, Hensol Castle has an abundance of history, that’s just waiting to be discovered.

There’s striking features at every turn, from turrets and gothic towers to sweeping staircases and original architecture, all of which are encased in the magnificent walls of this 400-year old castle. Set within an enchanting estate, which boasts 650 acres of rolling Welsh countryside, a 15 acre serpentine lake, the Grade I listed Hensol Castle provides an unrivalled setting.
