The center of gravity of the geo-economic and geo-political

world is shifting from West to East. Asian countries are on the

rise, President Joko Widodo once said in his speech during

    East-Asia Summit at Myanmar, 2014.

WELCOME TO ASEAN YOUTH EXPO (AYE) 2015

Ass. Wr. Wb. Good day and may peace be with you.

In this more globalized era, we realized that every country has to stand tall and also has a

    strong cooperation during the dynamic.

There is a slogan of Jalesveva Jayamahe which means In the ocean we triumph. This

slogan represents an optimism towards the accomplishment of the dream to create theoceans as a great source of prosperity for all.

We acknowledge that ASEAN have a huge potential and resources in maritime and marine

areas. However, ASEAN also have a huge challenge in maintaining the sustainability of the

resources. Then it becomes our responsibility to keep our maritime resources for our

    generation ahead.

As we are speaking on a regional context, ASEAN is now welcoming the ASEAN Communi-

ty 2015. It is a common belief that youth is the building blocks of the future. Hence the idea

behind ASEAN Youth Expo, running its 3rd year after a successful run on the previous year, which I sincerely hope can be one of the ways to establish the ASEAN Action.

Through this opportunity, I would like to address my gratitude to my team at Ministry of

Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia for their passion in making this event

happen. To the organizer, On That Point Foundation team and the volunteers supporting

them. You are amazing Indonesian youth. These too shall be extended to partners of

    venue, sponsors and media.

I wish to extend a warm welcome to fellow delegates from all ASEAN member countries to

Indonesia. I thank you for making yourself available and participating the event.

Please enjoy the event and cherish every moment you are about to go through.

With that, I hereby declare that the ASEAN Youth Expo 2015: The ASEAN Action is officially

    opened.

    Thank you.

Minister for Youth and Sports Republic of IndonesiaMr. Imam Nahrawi
