Evan McCoy is a principal and Senior Mechanical Engineer of Concept Engineering. He is a professional member of APEGA and ASHRAE. Evan attained the designation of LEED® Green Associate™ by demonstrating the knowledge and

understanding of green building practices

and principles needed to support the use of

the LEED Green Building Rating System.

Evan obtained his degree in Mechanical

Engineering at the University of Alberta,

graduating in 2004. Evan has broad

experience in both field implementation of

mechanical systems and full system design.

Evan is a firm believer in continuing

education; taking courses and attending seminars to further his knowledge and to stay

on top of new technologies.

Evan has completed in excess of 50 Buildings in multiple

developments throughout various locations in Western

Canada. Commercial Retail Units (CRU’s) are designed and

optimized to suit specific developer preferences for future

leasing and/or resale flexibility.

Mechanical system designs have been Engineered for dozens

of heavy truck and light vehicle service and repair shop wash

bays and pay per use public drive-in and automated car

washes throughout the western provinces. These facilities

have some of the harshest interior building environments and

require attention to detail to ensure building and mechanical

systems are protected and optimized for longevity, satisfaction

of users and minimized operating costs.

This Mining equipment Dealership and Repair and Servicing

Facility with supporting office building in Elkford, British

Columbia services the largest coal mining trucks in the world.

Extreme welding and air arc gouging requirements within the

60’ high welding shop are supported by proportionately large

paint and repair bays and parts warehouse. This facility is a

flagship within the industry for creating a safe and clean work

environment within such extreme conditions.

Kenworth in Lloydminister Alberta, First Truck’s New Facility in

Edmonton Alberta and Chemco’s New Office and Shop in

Nisku Alberta and Big Eagle Hydrovac’s Shop are some

Children need safe and comfortable and enjoyable places to

stay while parents are at work or in commute. As daycare and

afterschool care standards in the Edmonton Region increase,

a demand for well-engineered daycare facilities increases.

These needs are recognized and implemented into the

designs of many daycares that we have completed in the

Edmonton area.

Paints-Plus Equine Center is a riding arena where the public

can take lessons and be hands on with horses. As new farm

buildings with public access are built, they now need to fall

within Alberta Building code assembly classifications rather

than the older, more relaxed farm code building standards.

Design experience with this facility and another private riding

facility has merged Evan’s farm upbringing and engineering

experience to provide functional and inexpensive solutions to

satisfy new code standards while meeting the needs of the
