Intro

My name is Evan Flanders and I come from a small town(rural area) in Illinois with around 2,000 people. A rural area is a place where there aren’t a lot of people, usually there’s more land used for agriculture than there is for housing. I don’t like small towns, so it felt great to get out of there after high school. I went to another university before I transferred to MSU. The other university didn’t have the majors I was interested in, and was a lot more expensive.

Why nursing?

I wanted to get into nursing because it was the most logical path to take for what I was interested in. I enjoy working in the healthcare system. And so far I have really enjoyed nursing. I am undecided where I will go after I graduate. I may continue my education, or maybe even get some experience as a nurse so I can become a traveling nurse.

Missouri State University

MSU is the university I attend. I actually love it here, I actually mean that too. The school has a large amount of students, around 29,000, so it’s easy to meet new people and make friends. There are also a lot of organizations to get involved with on campus. The surrounding city isn’t too bad either. If you get bored on campus, it’s easy to find something fun to do in the city.

Languages

I speak English, and understand a few words in Spanish. It’s been awhile since high school Spanish class, and I haven’t used Spanish outside that class, so my memory has faded.

Expectations and Concerns

What I am most concerned about is that I will not know what is going on or when I need to do things. I usually resolve problems like this by bugging my classmates with questions until I am completely sure I comprehend the situations. I expect this module to be informative and fun, and not too stressful.
