Q3; What have you learned from your

audience feedback?

My target audience will be the type of young adults between the age of 16-20 who shop in places like River Island, Republic, Topshop/ Topman, Newlookand Urban Outfitters. I also vision my audience to have part time jobs and this therefore is quite a mass market but who are financially viable. And therefore able to spend ‘Spare Pocket Cash’ to spend on brand products of the band, making them the ideal audience to hold. My secondary audience will be those of a wider chart selection who may also vary in age. These will be of middle working class who enjoy the likes of Capital or Hallam radio, those who screen charting singles.

Time management has always been something I really would like to work on as I just cannot get it right so that I'm not completing everything, last minute! So in addition, the feedback I have gained is for personal reference to next time as although there were odd elements through my project that I was helped with as I went along, I didn’t get my feedback till late and was already incredibly happy with my final product I wasn’t able to add any different elements to my products through the feedback I was given even if I did wish to do so location and timing would maybe have to have been rethought as it was all out in the open Derbyshire moors its very temperamental for weather and a 40 minute drive away, and then we have to think of casting and if they are free as it is an all day event.

The questionnaires in the previous slide show some of the

feedback I got from those I spend most time with and some of

who I don’t, some of a media technological mind and some of

just a basic consumer mind. The main key areas that I picked

up on was that if there were time and resources to improve my

music video, some would like me to show the journey that it

took to get there so that it reflected a story from the beginning

to the end, to make it feel a little more complete. Another

suggestion was that if somewhere throughout my music video

it would be possible to use some kind of prop to give the

relationship another dimension and something in which they

can communicate with/through. For example a reason for

being there like having taken the dog for a walk and use that

element within my music video to add a new dimension, it

would be time consuming but add so much depth to the music

video and therefore would need a lot of time and effort

In the screen shots above showed just another way of gaining feedback, to do so I posted my music video onto my social networking sites; twitter and facebook. This helped me gain views and feedback on my music video from those who are more of my target audience. Which helped a great deal to know whether it would work for who it is intended to work for. The first clip is from someone who doesn’t take media or work within an inch of the industry so only knows what she can see through a consumers mind. And therefore showed me that my target audience would like my product and that I'm heading along the right lines giving me the confidence that it will/would sell within the real industry. The second clip is from someone who fits my target audience but who is of a media technological mind and knows the technical aspects of the foreground of which she is analysing. And therefore the feedback I gained was very useful as it helped used technological feedback throughout my project.

All technologies used throughout my project were carefully planned in a way in which they would become helpful and efficient in a way that was effective to the production and completion of my project.

My target audience played a huge part in the construction of my music video and texts, they are of all the reason that I'm doing that specific music video and therefore needed to ensure that my project fitted perfectly to the needs of them in particular any body else will be a secondary audience in which choose to fit that sub category. To try and attract my target audience it was important to do a substantial amount of research into their background although it was mainly based around those of a similar situation to myself which I why I found it so easy to relate to. To address your audience it is important for them to have something to relate to, I did this by applying current trends to my castings clothing wear. The main feature of my project which is the two main characters and the love in which they share it’s the relationship in which we can all relate to or in deed wish we could so much that it becomes a need. I also feel that by creating a free environment it will appeal to my target audience a lot more as most of which is what they are striving for because they need a sense of escapism and therefore will use my video as a retreat.

In reflection if I could choose to do it all again I think I would still keep my same project but I would definitely look at my time management so that I could evenly space out things a lot more in hope that id have more time to relook at my work and evaluate or maybe add extra elements that once read through I thought would make it better. I wouldn’t change my ancillary task although maybe the odd tweak here and there. I would however maybe add another element to my music video in which gave the music video more depth and storyline to keep the viewer intrigued. For example I really like to feedback of having them up walking in Derbyshire for a reason like dog walking as I think that would help so a connection a bond between the two.
