In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge

forms and conventions of real media products?

Our opening sequence has used theconventions of many different thrillermovies.

The thriller movie Train spotting has

different clips that was filmed at the trainstation which included clips of trains moving

The props used as thecharacter on the left iswearing a shirt and tie, smart jacket and shoes.

His costume was alsouseful for his character,

as he wore jeans, a grayhooded top, a black andsilver split coloured coatand trainers.

How does your media product represent

    particular social groups?

I found that our media product represented social class in two ways in which differ. There are two men, one inwhich represent a wealthy business man of the working upper class. The two images directly below show how thiswas portrayed with the use of props and mise-en-scene. The other character however is of a lower working class.

    Smart jacket, shirt andtie

    Hooded top, split

    coloured coat

Caf giving mise-en-scene a luxurious look

What type of media institution might distribute

    your media product?

There are a lot of different media institutions that

would distribute our media product. Vertigo Films is a

UK Film and Media production and distributioncompany, founded in 2002, with the aim of producingand distributing commercially driven independentcinema. They also target low budget British films so Ithink they are more likely to distribute our film.

The football factory is one of thelow budget British films that wasdistributed by vertigo films.

    London to Brighton is

another low budgetBritish film that wasdistributed by vertigofilms and was verysuccessful

Who would be the audience for your media

    product?

Our target audience was a mixture of both male andfemale, which would be aged 15-30. We investigatedwhat types of films they would be interested in and foundthat the majority of people enjoyed watching comedyfilms and also action films, thriller films was also a genrethat they enjoyed watching.

    How did you attract/address your

    audience?

We received audience feedback that suggested that we weresuccessful in having a story line that would actually work in a realmedia thriller product, providing that we used correct props andcostume and different camera techniques.

A man in suitcould portray thecharacteristics ofthe man, and alsothe colour of thesuit could tell a lotmore about thecharacter.

Dark shades would makethe character seem tohave a sense of hiddenidentity

Wearing a hooded top portrays thecharacter as either a hoody orperhaps jus a casual character inwhich Othniel was.

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel

you have learnt in the progression from the full product?

There was a lot of different things thatI leaned, from creating ouropening sequence of a thriller Public Enmity, there was a lot of thingsthatI came across that were new to me. Some things like editing musicwith video, was something thatI have never done before. There wasalso having to take the same shot quite a lot of times and then doing thesame at around 2-3 different angles was another thing thatI learned, asI now know that this helps when editing the footage later on.

I learned howto use theibook to asufficientlyhighstandard.

    I now know

how to use Itripod to dodifferentangles andtechniqueswhenrecording
