3) WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT DISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA PRODUCTS AND WHY?

PRELIMINARY TASKSchool magazines are targeted at students, which means its

targeted at a small group of students based in that school.

This means that there wouldn’t be a need to use a large company to publish this magazine because there are only a couple hundred or so which will need to be printed.

My proposals:

- School website = this enables anyone to view the schools latest news and students would always have to current one.

- School printers = the school also has a large printing facilities and could easily print out the monthly magazine

- Fronter = all students use this site for school, and seems a sensible alternative.

Any of these methods would be suitable ways of presenting my magazine to the reader as it is aimed for students.

DMH Media Network is a multi-media company, which has been running for 16 years. It specializes in putting brands or products in front of the consumer. Their focus is music, style, events, food and social media.

These are all the magazines they have published:

Bauer Media Group is UK multi-platform privately owned publishing group. One of the largest private media companies in Europe.

They’ve published over 300 magazines in 15 countries as well as online, TV and radio stations. They’re split into two main divisions radio and magazine.

Some of there known magazines which they have published are Q magazine, KERRANG! and MOJO

WHO I CHOSE?Having researched into both magazines I found pros and cons

BAUER MEDIA - It’s a UK publishing group

- Its published over 300 different types of magazines

- The company has a lot of experience

They publish a vast range of style magazines – not really known to publish any R&B styled magazines

DMH MEDIA - Its music magazines are all R&B

- We have the same target audience

My magazine will have competition with their own– therefore they may not want to publish my magazine

Therefore I have decided to use DMH Media Network to be my publisher and distributor as I feel they have the best experience in the R&B style magazine and know the audience well.
