Question 1

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Lighting

The photos on the left show the effects of

lighting on the models face. The bottom photo had much better lighting

and angle as her face stands out and you can

notice her makeup detail more effectively

However it took

quiet a while to get

the perfect angle we

wanted

Costumes

The outfits were used for all three of my products. (use

of synergy). Here i have highlighted the style of

clothing Rihanna wears so we followed those

conventions and make our model wear something similar that reflects that

artist.

Hair and make up!!

In the music video there are two sides to the artist. so to

define the two sides we made one look sweet pure and innocent-use of white dress and not alot of make

up, the other in a black dress black listick and black

eyeshadow-dark danger and sly.

Locations...The majority of our music video was inside our college studio

and we used different coloured backgrounds. However some parts were inside a house on a chair and on a sidewalk...

Artist... We tried to follow conventions as much as

possible by applying the same look and

attitude to our music video

In Rihanna’s video notice how she has two types

of looks; innocent and the complete opposite, we

also done the same in our music video

What have you learned from your audience feedback?

I distributed the main product (music video) onto my

facebook and asked people to honestly comment on it!

The mojority of my friends on facebook are between the

ages of 16-25 both genders which is the audience i am

targeting my products at.

Likes: show how many people liked

Overall my feedback showed my target

audience liked what they saw.

They liked the editing, smooth shots and

said it looked “believable”

Slideshare

I liked using slideshare because it

allowed me to keep track of all the

things i was doing(via print

screening them and adding them

onto there). I was then able to

upload all my work from there to

my actual blog!

!!Final cut pro!!Here is a video of me using final cut proAt first i found it quiet difficult to use this because it was my first time

and it takes me a while to get the drift of things. However once i got the hang of it i was able to edit and cut the video in the right places and test out the effects and add what was necessary and take out bits that wasnt. I also used final cut pro to produce the vox pop.

Wordpress =DI found Wordpress straight forward as all i had to do was update it whilst in

the process of completing my work.

Wordpress allows you to have more than one blog. To keep it organized I have put my blogs separately so all my a2 work is on one blog

Facebook!!Facebook was very helpful as it helped me with my research

and planning. Due to it being one of the most popular social

networking sites I was able to research and look at Rihannas

fan pages and roughly what the target audience was. I noticed

that there was a mixture of age groups that were fans of her

but the main age group was 16-25 year old of both sexes.

• Using youtube i was was able to do more research on rihanna. I was able to view all her music video, interviews, random videos of her and peoples thoughts on her. Youtube allowed people to comment their thoughts or even make their own video and post it for other people to comment on their thought of that artist.

YouTube helped my group and i choose what song we wanted to make a video to. This song had loads of positive feedback, loads of views and we thought it was the

best song to do as we had loads of different ideas for the video.

Conclusion !!My conclusion is that overall, all my products (digi pack, music

video and website) worked really well together however looking at the feedback there could have been a few changes made for me to improve it. In terms of synergy they work well together as a package and in terms of conventions, my group have followed it however slightly challenged it where we have reversed the characters in the music video( instead of the man having the power the woman is the dominant person). This makes it interesting as there is a twist to it. =D
