African/Americans

R&B is a genre of African/American music which originated in the 1940’s. Many R&B artists are African/American and therefore this targets many social groups made up of African/American’s as many of them can relate to the songs that R&B artists write or perform.

Post Feminists

A lot of the women as R&B artists are looked up to for their independence in work and performing. They show women that its not just men that can work independently to have power and reach their goals. However at the same time, they still care about their looks.

Youth Lyrics of R&B songs and styles of the clothing of

the artists show that the main age groups of the audience of R&B music are from middle teenage years to maybe late 20’s or early 30’s. The daytime kind of clothing is quite baggy, comfortable looking clothing which you see a lot of these ages wearing.

Men of youth

Most female R&B artists, dress in very revealing clothing which tends to attract young men of social groups.

Women in youth

As well as female R&B artists always wanting to look good, male R&B artists are always trying to get the best body to show it off to the world. This attracts women in social groups to their ‘glorious’ six packs etc.
