2nd European Workshop on Seabuckthorn

Vilnius, Lithuania, 18. - 19. October 2012

Two years ago European members of the International Seabuckthorn Association (ISA) decided to held a local conference. This was done to fill the gap between ISA conferences and to strengthen the European Seabuckthorn Society. Today we feel that the interest is growing to share results and opinions and decided to organize a European Workshop on Seabuckthorn as a following series of meetings. Agreeing to this, the German and Lithuanian Seabuckthorn Association decided to organize the meeting in Vilnius together. It is the expressed goal of the workshop to promote Seabuckthorn and to develop international scientific and commercial co-operation Objectives of the workshop • to assess the current status of Seabuckthorn research • to propagate new knowledge about breeding and planting • to show new technologies for growing and processing, especially under European cultivation conditions • to develop long term strategies in scientific as well as in commercial co-operation. Main Themes of the workshop • varieties and growing of Seabuckthorn • research on Seabuckthorn • new technologies for organic Seabuckthorn products • European Seabuckthorn quality • international co-operation on Seabuckthorn I would like to invite you to join our workshop in Vilnius EuroWorkS 2012. Time for oral presentations All oral presentations are limited to 20 min followed by 5 min. for discussion. Keynote lectures are 30 min.

Conference Language

The official language of the conference will be English. Consecutive translation to Russian will be arranged.

Conference Proceedings

• Proceedings will be issued as printed version • Presentations should be sent to the organising secretary within 4 weeks after meeting • Recommended length 4 pages • Submission will be accepted on disc or email. Text format should be WinWord (*.doc), RichTextFormat (*.rtf) or Staroffice /

openoffice (*.odt), Please use font arial 10pt, headlines 12pt, Powerpoint presentations can be send as *.ppt or *.odp

Visa

A valid passport is required for non EU participants. Please apply in due time for a visa whenever necessary. Personal invitation for non EU participants will be send after we received registration. We will inform Lithuanian Embassies in your countries by official way about the meeting and will send them individual lists of participants to support your visa application.
