Being a part of the European Union has
provided Lithuania and myself, as an individual, with many good things.
Allow me to tell you about some of them.

Duty-free TradePros:Increases good supply and decreases sale costs.
Cons:Imported goods replace native ones, thus local business has lower income.

I liked to watch cartoons as achild. If there was no decision tocreate duty-free trade, I wouldhave watched them on an old"Šilelis". I'm glad that I watched them ona widescreen "Samsung" whichwas imported from Germany.

Pros:Schools can organise more events, manage the curicular.
Project funding
Cons:Getting funding requires a lot
of documentation, so intelectual and creative
potential of workers are used in a less productive way.

My school received funding from the EU, so we could get a more qualified education.
Now there are projectors, new desks and computers for the teachers in every classroom. It is hard to imagine learning without these things.

Pros:As a participant of “Erasmus” , you do not need to pay for studies in a foreign university.
“Erasmus”
Interesting fact:Every year 180 thousand students participate in “Erasmus” student exchange programme.

When I graduated from a high school, I wanted to continue my studies abroad.
With the help of the student exchange programme "Erasmus", I had a chance to try studying in the university of Oxford, UK.
I do not want to imagine how it would be if there was no "Erasmus“ .

Pros: You can travel, live and work in any country which belongs to the EU.
Schengen Area
Cons: Criminals can try to avoid justice by fleeing to a neighbouring EU. country.
Because of that, EU. countries’ police forces
and courts should be more coordinated.

In 1995, Schengen, Luxembourg the contract of Schengen, which allows the citizens of the EU to travel easily in Europe,
was signed.I used this opportunity and went to France, where I met my(girl) friend Amelia. If there was no Schengen area, traveling would requiremuch more documentation and I probably would havestayed in R gpieniaiū village.

Job and employment

When my education wascompleted, I decidedto relate my life with politics.I did not need to get a workvisa to start mycareer in other country ofEU. Right now, Iwork in the EU ParliamentrepresentingLithuania's interests.

All in all, I think that the EU has both pros and cons.Even though some people think that the EU is a bad idea, in my opinion it helps with everyday life and makes tedious tasks easy.
