Our Mission

Background •  A European network •  Developed from a collaborative network of territorial

employment pacts •  Series of practical workshops and study visits •  Collaboration in two EU transnational innovation

projects •  Since March 2009, the network is registered as an

European Economic Interest Group (EEIG) in Berlin

MetropolisNet is an EEIG •  EEIG = European Economic Interest Group •  flexible and light structure •  enables its members to interlink some of their economic

activities while retaining their economic and legal independance

•  excellent financial guarantees as the grouping members are jointly and severally liable

•  maximum effective protection is provided for third parties

Objectives •  exchanging information, experience and know-how

between the partner organisations •  supporting and co- ordinating local partnerships and

employment pacts •  co-operating in joint projects to achieve our goals of

greater social cohesion •  developing co-operation with other relevant

organisations at local, regional, national and European levels and beyond.

•  Strengthening  the  role  of  the  regional  &  local  level  •  Implemen,ng  joint  projects  to  achieve  these  goals  and  developing  co-­‐opera,on  with  other  relevant  organisa,ons  at  local,  regional,  na,onal  and  European  levels,  and  beyond  

how  it  works  METROPOLISNET  is  a  vehicle  for    •  inter-­‐city  and  inter-­‐organisa,onal  collabora,on  in  promo,ng  the  empowerment  of  local  actors  by  emphasizing  the  local  dimension  of  EU  policies  on  employment  and  social  affairs;  

•  developing  the  local  dimension  of  EU  strategies  on  employment,  social  inclusion  and  local  development.    

 It  sees  as  a  priority  the  fostering  of  smart,  sustainable  and  inclusive  growth  within  the  context  of  the  EU  2020  strategy.
