Your dream of international travel will be brought to reality by selecting a travel professional who will be able to offer first hand knowledge regarding the destination you will be visiting. They are a phone call away, in comparison to online booking services, which will not answer your questions or assist you once the sale is made. In addition many on line companies offering “cheap deals” are based overseas and therefore do not operate under US law. Should they cease operating, you will not have any legal recourse. Always make sure you are dealing with a North American based tour operator before making any payments.

The nation’s most reliable tour operators belong to the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA). All members are required to post a minimum $1 million dollar bond, which is supervised outside of the tour operator’s control.

In addition to the USTOA affiliation, make certain that your tour operator is a member of the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA).
