editor’s letter

Spring is blooming and so is our second issue of Etzcetera.

My head is spinning.

the reaction to etzcetera has been amazing. When you put yourself out there and launch something yOU really love and are totally passionate about, it doesn’t always mean that other people will embrace it and love it too.

So while I tHOUGHt crafty people might enjoy a crafty magazine with tutorials, stories about creative people and

other tidbits, I didn’t really know for sure.

But it seems you do! Which is a relief.

I received lots of emails and comments after the launch of etzcetera Issue 1 and this comment left on my blog from Donna Wilson, from nSW really made me smile, “Thank you Kim. Thank you for keeping us inspired over the years, thank you for making us think and look outside of the box, and thank you for making it look so easy, and do-able. I have loved reading Issue 1 of your magazine, and can’t wait for the next one.”

the key word in there for me from Donna is “do-able”. that’s exactly what I was hoping to achieve with the magazine. I wanted to include projects that felt “do-able” and achievable. In Issue 2 we welcome a few new contributors who have brought us some great “do-able” projects. We welcome Kate Mason who shows us step by step how she creates a mixed media canvas and Mel Nunn who has us carving our own mini rubber stamps plus Mardi Winen is back with a stylish but very quick and easy book bag.

We also welcome our new food editor Jasmine Barton who created the MOSt delicious roasted chicken and potatoes with chorizo dish. How do I know it’s delicious? Because when Jasmine’s photos and recipes arrived in my inbox I decided to make the chicken dish for our weekend dinner. It was a huge hit in our house and so, so easy to prepare.

So grab a cuppa and explore Issue 2. I hope you find something “do-able” in here too.

Happy crafting.
