MainpageHere you will have everything at a glance: you can see events that will be held and join them; you can follow people that you like, post messages with links and images, news of "Central Support Service" (CSS) and "National Support Service" (NSS) ...

...So eTwinning Live now works as a social network!

Page 5: Etwinning Workshop for Young Tourism

PeopleContact with other teachers here and start a project.

You can use the search by typing a name, subject, your preferences, interests, and more.

Then check teachers’ profile you have chosen, projects, activities, messages...

Page 6: Etwinning Workshop for Young Tourism

EventsYou can participate in any of the events organized by another teacher, the Central Service or the National Service. Just look at what events are in today, this week or this month, or look for a specific subject.

There are events restricted to specific groups, and others in which you have to request permission to join the videoconference session

The calendar shows all events of eTwinning.

Page 7: Etwinning Workshop for Young Tourism

Types of events: on siteOn site Events: Projects workshops, national conferences, training sessions etc. They are normally organised by CSS or NSS. If you want to have more information, you should contact them directly or via the specific event’s forum, if present.

Sessions organised by you in your school, for instance presentation, promotional events etc. You can share them in the events section and let eTwinning know what you are up to.

Page 8: Etwinning Workshop for Young Tourism

Types of events: on line Online Event: Online events can be organised by any eTwinner (including you) and have the following features:

An audio and video-conference tool for up to 100 participants.

A forum to discuss prior and after the video-conferencing session.

A file archive to share documents.

Page 9: Etwinning Workshop for Young Tourism

Types of Events: on line. TipsTips to create an online event:

Put a title and a precise description. Everyone will see in the calendar.

Define the type of audience: Public or restricted.

The date and time of the event is based on the availability of video conferencing tool. Do not forget that the set time is regulated by the Central European Time (CET)

Page 10: Etwinning Workshop for Young Tourism

ProjectsFrom this section you can create new projects or manage the ones you have already (for instance by adding new members, applying for a Quality Label, dealing with the project card etc.).

Your projects are organised by:

Pending, which require some action from you, the other founder or the NSS.

Active, the ones you are currently running.

Closed.Finished projects

Page 11: Etwinning Workshop for Young Tourism

ProjectsRemember that at the beginning of each school year all projects are closed automatically. If you want to continue with the activities of a closed project, simply re-open it. You may consider creating a new one if you are planning major changes.

The page also has a search engine. If you want to get inspired, simply search for a project based on various criteria (or enter a topic) and see what eTwinning suggests.

Page 12: Etwinning Workshop for Young Tourism

GroupsGroups are virtual places where eTwinners meet and discuss about specific subjects, topics or other areas of interest. There are a number of Groups sponsored by the CSS but many others are managed by eTwinners like you.

Steps to create a Group:

please check first that something similar does not exist already in the platform.

Then fill out the form and submit it for approval. In a few days CSS will let you know if the Group you would like to create is within the remit of eTwinning activities.

Once the Group is approved and created, you can start inviting your contacts and manage it by providing content.

partner forumsAre you looking for a partner for an eTwinning project or for an Erasmus+ partnership (school to school)? Select the appropriate forum (depending on the age category) and post a message with as many details as possible. Do not forget to search for messages in existing forums; somebody may be looking for an eTwinner with your profile!

Please do not compose more than one post a month to avoid spamming your fellow eTwinners.

ProfileThis is what the other eTwinners see when visiting your page.

Here you can:

Check your activities in eTwinning (Projects, Groups, Events)

Post messages which relate to your eTwinning experience. They will be shared with people who follow you, but visible to anyone visiting your profile.

Edit your preferences.Check your progress in eTwinning.

Page 15: Etwinning Workshop for Young Tourism

How you can manage your profileFor instance, you can upload your picture, write a

project idea, signal your intention to use an existing project kit and specify your areas/subjects of interest. All this information will be displayed in your profile and visible for all the other eTwinners.

The platform also allows you to monitor Progress in your eTwinning journey. The progression pie shows a percentage which is calculated on your activities, and it gets updated every time you do something in eTwinning (write a post, participate in projects, events, professional development activities, etc.), but also if you successfully use the Self Teaching Materials offered on the platform.

Page 16: Etwinning Workshop for Young Tourism

ProgressYour progress is displayed according to five different areas:

1. Basic, your initial eTwinning activities

2. Communication, how much you communicate in eTwinning

3. Collaboration, projects, etc.

4. Networking, doing things together with your colleagues

5. Quality, your achievements in eTwinning.

The progress bar constitutes your ‘eTwinning portfolio’, which you can download from the platform at a later stage.

Page 17: Etwinning Workshop for Young Tourism

Contacts and following peopleYour eTwinning contacts are the colleagues you work with more regularly and people you can setup a project with.

However, you may be interested in many more eTwinners and check what they do via the information feeds in your homepage. Now you can then ‘follow’ eTwinners.

It must be noted that activities from contacts will not be visible in your information feed unless you follow them.

Videoconferencing toolEveryone can set up an online event including a file archive, a forum but especially a video-conferencing room (based on Adobe Connect 9) which allows to communicate, collaborate and share with your colleagues in Europe. In real time.

How to access a videoconference (v/c) room.

1. From the event’s page click on the button ‘enter meeting room’ (this only shows when there is a live event).

This should open a new browser window with the following text::

Page 19: Etwinning Workshop for Young Tourism

Instructions to use the videoconferencing roomDepending on the browser you are using, the v/c room will open after less than a minute in the same browser window or in an external application.

Remember: you must have Adobe Flash installed!

For a list of requirement, check this page:

https://helpx.adobe.com/adobe-connect/tech-specs.html

Page 20: Etwinning Workshop for Young Tourism

Organiser’s interfaz If you are the organiser of the event, the room will look like this:

From this interface you can manage all the various features of the online meeting. If you are not sure, do not touch anything and just use the basic features.

Remember: the user interface of the room for you and all the other participants will be in German, English, Spanish, French or Italian if you selected one of these languages for your event. In all the other cases the user interface will be in English.

Page 21: Etwinning Workshop for Young Tourism

user’s interfazIf instead you are a participant, you will see this:

In this case, you do not have to do anything: wait for instructions from the organiser.

Page 22: Etwinning Workshop for Young Tourism

...what next?If you want to make a presentation or a

lesson (with audio and video), you should start your webcam and microphone and make sure that everyone can hear you. You can ask questions in the chat box.

Perhaps you would like to share your screen or a file: click on ‘share my screen’ and the system will give you the options to share your screen, a document or a whiteboard. This is quite powerful if you want to share a presentation from your machine or you are running it from your computer. Perhaps you want to draw something: then use a whiteboard.

Page 23: Etwinning Workshop for Young Tourism

More thingsYou can also interact with your colleagues with

audio and video: do not forget to assign them the right to do so.

Finally, you can record the session so that it’s accessible to you after the meeting. You can then decide to share a link to the recording with the other participants or other people. Make sure that everyone agrees!

Do not forget that the same tool will be used by projects’ TwinSpaces and Groups (although in this case recordings will not be archived). Perhaps, before creating an online event in eTwinning Live you can experiment a little in your own TwinSpace in a more restricted environment.

Page 24: Etwinning Workshop for Young Tourism

after the eventOnce the online event is over, the event’s page is still accessible. If you set up a forum and/or shared files, they will be there for a follow up. Keep an eye on this page so that you can answer questions from the other participants.

In the forum you may want to share the link to the recording of the session so that people who could not attend can catch up. The recording will be deleted after three months.

Do not forget to ask the others to ‘like’ your event and give feedback. All this information will be valuable for the people who have to decide whether to attend one of your events in the future!
