Bridging Disciplines Programs allow you to create an interdisciplinary concentration that integrates area requirements, electives, courses for your major, internships, and research. In the interest of educating thoughtful and responsible leaders, the BDP in Ethics & Leadership brings together resources from across campus. With courses relevant to health care, business, politics, law, engineering, and the media, Ethics & Leadership can complement a range of majors and interests. Through the Connecting Experiences component of the BDP, students may work with community and professional organizations or bring their interdisciplinary expertise to faculty research in areas such as public policy, advertising, and bio-ethics. The Ethics & Leadership BDP is overseen by a panel of faculty members from across campus. Members include Minette Drumwright (Advertising), John Dzienkowski (Law), Diane Ginsburg (Pharmacy), Linda Golden (Marketing), Sue Heinzelman (English), J.D. Howell (LBJ), Julie Irwin (Marketing), Madeline Maxwell (Communication Studies), Steve Nichols (Mechanical Engineering), Joy Penticuff (Nursing), Bob Peroni (Law), Robert Prentice (Information, Risk & Operations Management), Howard Prince (LBJ), Stan Roux (Molecular Cell & Developmental Biology), Sean Theriault (Government), Geoff Tumlin (LBJ), Juliet Walker (History), Jerome Williams (Advertising), and Paul Woodruff (Philosophy and Undergraduate Studies). Upon completion of 19 hours, you will earn a certificate in Ethics & Leadership. In the interest of educating thoughtful and responsible leaders, the BDP in Ethics & Leadership brings together resources from across campus. With courses relevant to health care, business, politics, law, engineering, and the media, Ethics & Leadership can complement a range of majors and interests. In courses taken for a letter grade, the student must obtain a grade of C or better to meet BDP certificate requirements. Only one BDP course may be taken pass/fail. Any exceptions will be considered by the faculty panel on an individual basis. 07/17/2008
