John 14:2-3In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you.

I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place

for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

John 17:3 Now this is eternal life:

that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ,

whom you have sent.

How can you be sure there is a Heaven?

1. Because the soul has always longed for such a place.

2. We know there is a Heaven because God says there is such a place as Heaven.

Why would each of us want to go to Heaven?

I. Because God has made Heaven ready for us …

to prepare a place for you.


2. Because Heaven is going to be an incredible place …

1 Corinthians 2:9 No eye has seen, no ear has

heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those

who love him.


Revelation 21:10-11He carried me (John) away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed

me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.

It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious

jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal.



Revelation 21:12-13It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates.

On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south

and three on the west.



Revelation 21:14-15The wall of the city had twelve

foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure

the city, its gates and its walls.



Revelation 21:16-17The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 1,400

miles in length, and as wide and high as it is long. He measured its wall and it was 216 feet thick, by man's measurement,

which the angel was using.



Revelation 21:18-19The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind

of precious stones.



Revelation 21:21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls,

each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was

of pure gold, like transparent glass.



Revelation 21:22-23 I did not see a temple in the city,

because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light,

and the Lamb is its lamp.



Revelation 21:27 NLTNothing evil will be allowed to enter,

nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty--but only those

whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

3. Because no evil will be there …


Revelation 21:4 NLT He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.

Matthew 8:11 NLT And I tell you this, that many Gentiles will

come from all over the world--from east and west--and sit down with Abraham,

Isaac, and Jacob at the feast in the Kingdom of Heaven.

4. Reunion with the saints of old…


Revelation 22:1-2 NLT Then the angel showed me a river with

the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb. It flowed down the center of

the main street. On each side of the river grew a tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, with a fresh crop each month. The leaves were

used for medicine to heal the nations.

5. Communion with God …


Revelation 22:3-5 NLT No longer will there be a curse upon anything. For the throne of God and of

the Lamb will be there, and his servants will worship him. And they will see his face, and his name will be written on their foreheads. And there will be no

night there--no need for lamps or sun--for the Lord God will shine on them. And they will reign forever and ever.

Are you ready for Heaven?

Revelation 20:11-12 NLT I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. I saw the dead, both great

and small, standing before God's throne. And the books were opened, including the

Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as

recorded in the books.


Revelation 20:13-14 NLT The sea gave up its dead, and death and

the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. Then death and the grave were

thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death.


Revelation 20:15 NLT And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown

into the lake of fire.


Revelation 21:1-2 NLT Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone.

And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully

dressed for her husband.


Revelation 21:3-4 NLT I heard a loud shout from the throne,

saying, "Look, God's home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with

them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things

are gone forever."


Revelation 21:5-6 NLT And the one sitting on the throne said,

"Look, I am making everything new!" And then he said to me, "Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true." And he also said, "It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega--the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give

freely from the springs of the water of life.


Revelation 21:7-8 NLT All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they

will be my children. "But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft,

idol worshipers, and all liars--their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur.

This is the second death."


Revelation 21:27 NLT Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices

shameful idolatry and dishonesty--but only those whose names are written

in the Lamb's Book of Life.

Until then…Titus 2:13 …while we wait for the blessed hope--the

glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.



1. Refocus and realign your energies and priorities.

Matthew 6:19-20 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy,

and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves

treasures in heaven…

Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.
