ET’s Tunnel Fleet Consists of: Tunnelling Overview

ET has been actively supplying specialised equipment to the Tunnelling Industry to support our clients success.

ET’s extensive industry experience, reliability and back up support helps minimise equipment downtime and maximizes productivity.

We are able to provide our clients with an array of machinery options to suit the ever changing demands and various engineering challenges.

ET are able to supply drills that are either electric/hydraulic or diesel hydraulic with different boom configurations to suit the different boring patterns and the ever-changing bolting standards.

We can also provide bolting equipment that is capable of installing ground support as a one

pass operation and in doing so create a safer more productive environment.

Our Boltec unit can install Swellex, CT bolts, Split Sets and Spiral Bars, we can also on request modify our rails to suit the different bolt lengths required or reconfigure our rail set up to install canopy tubes.

If required ET can also supply specialised labour to operate equipment on either short or long term contracts.

We currently supply equipment to John Holland Group, Thiess, Mc Connell Dowell, Fox Mining, Baulderstone and Leighton’s.

Micro Tunnelling No Dig

Tunnelling

No Dig is a trenchless technology contractor specialising in Microtunnelling, particularly pressure balanced slurry drilling with machines capable of drilling in sand, clay and rock.

No Dig has carried out well over 50 kilometers of microtunnelling using both Pilot System Microtunnellers and Pressure Balanced Slurry machines, which allows installation of pipelines below the ground water table.

We have drilling capabilities for pipe sizes from 150mm to 800mm OD and 200m + in length.

The Equipment is generally laser guided which is able to achieve pin point accuracy over long distances which makes accuracy suitable for on grade sewer and drainage applications.

Key personal include Engineers and skilled trades people with extensive knowledge in the operation and manufacture of drilling and microtunnelling equipment.

Typically, the Brokk machines are used in conjunction with TBM or Drill & Blast, e.g. to excavate cross-passages between twin tunnels, safety niches, TBM launch chambers, enlargement of existing tunnels or stations, service & cable tunnels, etc. The key feature of our machines is that you

get the power and reach of a 15-20 ton excavator in a package that only weighs 5 tons or less and can enter openings that are only 2 x 2 meters. Therefore, our machines are most suitable for replacing time-consuming and inefficient mini-excavators and handheld jackhammers.

Breathing Air Filtration

Filtration is to AS1716 quality via a 4 stage filtration system. The sizing of the flow is such that the total purge of the base is done every 3 to 4 minutes. This prevents the build up of Co2 and minimizes the heat build up. This option allows indefinite breathing air duration as long as the plant airlines are maintained.

Back-Up Air Supply

A 48 hour back-up system, operated via a battery pack is installed. This unit removes Co2 and provides breathing air for 48 hours.

Airlock & Escape Hatch

All Bases have a 1200 x1200 entry area just inside the door that is sectioned off via a heavy clear plastic curtain. This minimizes large quantities of contaminates entering the entire base through constant opening and closing of the door. A rear escape hatch is installed providing an alternative emergency exit.

Air Conditioner

A split system air conditioning unit ensures a comfortable environment for the occupants.

Handling

Lifting points on the top of the chamber and a forklift slots on the side. The base is a full skid allowing the unit to be dragged if needed. I.T. attachment can also be incorporated.

Signage

Highly reflective, signage identifying the Fresh Air or Refuge Base in smoke filled or restricted vision areas.
