ESTMZ System Packers

Isolation packer options. ree packeroptions: 1) a single element hydraulic-setpermanent packer, 2) a single elementhydraulic-set retrievable packer, and3) a dual element testable retrievablepacker. All packers are rated to 10,000 psiand have slips that once set, stayenergized regardless of internal pressure.

ESTMZ™ Enhanced Single-Trip Multizone SystemFrac pack multiple zones in fewer trips with complete formation isolation

e providers of sand control equipment have been continuously challenged by the industry to develop newand innovative completion systems to enable the completion of increasingly deeper, more difficult wells in acost-effective way. Halliburton’s ESTMZ™ Enhanced Single-Trip Multizone system addresses this challengewith its latest generation of cased hole single-trip sand control completion technology.

e ESTMZ system is based upon Halliburton’s very successful STMZ™ Single-Trip Multizone system whichwas first deployed in the early 90’s and has since been installed in hundreds of wells with nearly 1000 intervalspacked to date.

e ESTMZ system offers additional features for today’s demanding deepwater environments. e system helpsreduce overall completion cost and is designed to maximize well productivity by reducing the number of rigdays required to complete a frac pack multizone completion, allows long reservoir intervals to be separated foroptimum fracturing design, and provides access to smaller reservoir intervals that would normally be bypassed.

• Takes a single workstring trip to deploy. is reduces the number of workstring trips which helps loweroverall completion costs, i.e., saves three workstring trips per each additional zone. Saves on frac vesselmobilization and demobilization charge.

• Full 10,000 psi differential pressure rating. Increases the operating envelope for deeper wells and allowsfrac design optimization.

• Highest rated frac and proppant rating in the industry. Pump-rated to 45 barrels per minute (bbls/min) andproppant-rated to 750,000 lbs per interval with an unrestricted cumulative rating of 2,750,000 lbs of16/30 HSP proppant. is allows frac designs to be optimized for each reservoir interval.

• Largest system ID in the industry. e 4.75-in. system ID for 9 5/8-in. casing provides a large ID to maximizefrac rates, reverse rates, production rates, and is compatible with SmartWell® zonal flow control equipment.

• Modular Screen provides formation isolation. Pre-and post-treatment formation isolation with formationaccess to each interval provided by the frac circulation sleeve and optional production sleeve (run as anintegral part of the screen).

ESTMZ Frac SystemQualification TestingFrac qualification testing was conducted to rate theESTMZ system for pump rate and proppant volume.e testing was designed to accomplish two goals – thefirst was to meet initial customer specifications for aplanned deepwater installation; the second was todetermine the maximum proppant volume at apredetermined rate that can be safely pumped throughthe service tool.

e test was representative of a typical ramped fractreatment including an outer test fixture representing9 5/8-in. casing, a sand control upper extension, closingsleeve, and frac service tool. e test set-up simulatesdownhole conditions and validates the tools ability towithstand erosive wear.

To meet the initial customer requirements, five intervalswere simulated with a proppant volume per interval of400,000 lbs of 16/30 CarboHSP® proppant with acumulative volume of 2,000,000 lbs. e proppant pumprate was 45 bbls/min. e second qualification testdetermined the ratings for the service tool and frac packassembly.

e service tool assembly is rated at a cumulative3,750,000 lbs of CARBOHSP pumped at a rate of45 bbls/min or 750,000 lbs per zone for a maximum offive zones. is is based upon following a recommendedHalliburton ramp schedule. For other ramp schedules, the cumulative tool rating is 2,750,000 lbs of CARBOHSPor 500,000 lbs per zone for a maximum of five zonespumped at a rate of 45 bbls/min.
