Essential Differences Among Bronte Sisters Works

    By Sundus E. Al. Nabhani

Although their names always associated with each other, mentioned together & represent

sensitives who were distinguished from the other their wors, however, were completely

different. !Bell Sisters" #Abrams $%$$ this was their names before their great wors published.

'urrer Bell composed (ane Eyre, Ellis Bell wrote )uthering *eights and Acton Bell formulated

Agnes +rey. n fact, Bell sisters were Bronte sisters- Emily, 'harlotte and Anne. (ane Eyre by

'harlotte Bronte & Agnes +rey by Anne Bronte were ust a reflection of their life, while Emily/s

wors either her novel or her poems were a literature.

n 'harlotte/s (ane Eyre the author e0pressed her feelings, her autobiography and her hopes.A simple clarification of this notion includes the novel/s title, protagonist, theme, events, end and

the author/s style. All these ideas provide one point which is how the novelist could incarnate her

real personality in an imaginary heroin. 1urthermore, there is a strong lin between each one of

these items and the actuality of 'harlotte/s life. n $23$ her mother died and 4rs. Eli5abeth

Branwell, Aunt Branwell, came from 'ornwall to help 4r. Bronte to loo after the children. n $236

'harlotte and Emily sent to school for the daughters of poorer clergymen at 'owan Bridge where

their oldest sisters Eli5abeth and 4aria died because of tuberculosis as a result of the school/s harsh

and unhealthy condition . 'harlotte wored as a governess twice firstly in 4ay $2%7 and secondly

in 4arch $26$ but in reality she left after a few months because of mistreatment. 4oreover she

suffered from treating her as socially inferior. After that she went with Emily to Brussels in $263

then they retuned to *aworth because their aunt died. She had many visits to 8ondon and she metmany famous authors lie 4atthew Arnold, 4r. +asell and Sir (ames 9ay:Shuttleworth despite

she was a shy woman who dislied social life.

;he information above rewritten by 'harlotte not as a biography but as a novel. According

to this, it is obviously that (ane Eyre as a title or as a protagonist of the novel reflects an orphan girl

called (ane Eyre whom her aunt 4rs. , 3C2. ;hen she too 4r.

Anyhow, it is possible to say that Anne/s novel was appro0imately ingenuous reflection lie

'harlotte/s. A brief e0planation of this statement can be e0emplified by using the comparison

techniDue between the author/s autobiography and the novel/s heroin, theme and events. 1rom the

beginning, the first chapter in the novel named ;he arsonage #!Agnes +rey". t is not an odd

choice because 4r. atric Bronte was a clergyman and his daughters grown in the parsonage

#Abrams $%$$. 'hapter twenty one named ;he School #!Agnes +rey". *er selection of thatchapter/s name relate to 'owan Bridge where she sent #Abrams $%$$. n Agnes +rey each member

of her family started to loo for a ob in order to protect themselves from begging after their father

ill #Southcombe. ;hey interdicted Agnes to oin them because she is young #Southcombe. ;his

event prove that Anne wished to have her independency among her family especially if it is nown

    that her sister 4aria born in $2$6 , Eli5abeth in $2$ , 'harlotte in $2$> , Branwell her brother

in $2$? , Emily in $2$2 and finally she born in $23C . So, she was the youngest one on her

family. Agnes wored as a governess two times- first in )ellwood*ousewithBloomfield

familyand second with the 4urray family #!Agnes +rey". ;his was e0actly what happened with

the writer/s sister 'harlotte #(ane Eyre F. Bloomfield family was rich while Agnes was poor and

needy. 'onsidering theme of the novel is struggle for independence as usual there must be a conflict

on account of social class which Anne and her family suffered from because their father wasimpoverished#Abrams $%$$. ;herefore, the novel is a reflection of the author/s life.

'h.$$, 3?7 . 4ay 'harlotte achieved in maing her readers interested but this interesting was ust

for a short time because this suspenseful stopped at the end of the novel because the Duestion

answered . 'onseDuently, the interesting and suspense in (ane Eyre were limited between the

    Duestion about 4r.

novel the readers/ feelings will not stop not only because of the unusual and supernatural actions but

also because of the author/s uniDue style in delivering the e0pression.

Beside the vagueness there is another fascinating aspect somehow colored Emily/s art which

was the necrophilia. ;his aspect appeared clearly in )uthering *eights and that/s why it is

discriminate novel. Also it appears in some of her poems lie , 76>.
