ESS Edunet Module: Latent variable modelling of cross-national survey data Myrsini Katsikatsou and Jouni Kuha London School of Economics and Political Science Exercise 1 on Multigroup factor analysis: R output The output format is mostly similar to the one for single-group factor analysis models; see a separate output for Exercise 1 for Factor analysis for more comments on this. The estimates are shown separately for each group (here country) for every parameter. o Parameters which are constrained to be equal across countries are indicated by a label for the constraint, as in Obey =~ bplcdc (.p1.) 1.729 0.034 50.878 0.000 This shows that the estimated loading of factor “Obey” in the measurement model for item “bplcdc” is the same in every group where the constraint label “(.p1.)” is shown next to the parameter estimate. The function parameterEstimates produces a data frame which can be used to print the parameter estimates, their standard errors and so on in a more concise format, and also makes these quantities available for further analysis. An example of this data frame is included at the end of this note.
