Create Enterprise Support Report

The Enterprise Support report gives you an overall view of the current status of theapplication life-cycle management of your critical business processes.

This comprises:

Current maintenance contracts for your production systems. What potentialinnovations are there for your solution landscape? (e.g. available updates, permanentquality checks)

What are the potential risks to business continuity? (e.g. non-availability of criticalbusiness processes, planned or unplanned downtimes)

How can you optimize business processes?

Do you satisfy the standard Application Life-Cycle Management processes?

When you have made the report settings, you can start the Enterprise Support report for asolution, immediately, or schedule it as a periodic background job. The chapter selectiondetermines the scope of the report. You can create your own report variants.

PrerequisitesYou are authorized to create and call Enterprise Support reports. For further information, seethe SAP Solution Manager Security Guide in the SAP Service Marketplace, under

http://service.sap.com/instguides SAP Components .

There are RFC connections between the Solution Manager and BW systems. You haveperformed the basic configuration of SAP Solution Manager, in which the systemautomatically creates the RFC connections, in the initial configuration.

To be able to create the Enterprise Support report, there is at least one active solution in theSAP Solution Manager, whose systems and business processes you want to monitor. Forfurther information, see Solutions.

ProcedureStart the transaction ES_REPORT.

ES Report CustomizingEnter the solutions and the systems in the solution landscape which are required for thereport, under Select a Solution , before you run the report for the first time, or when you wantto change the settings. The entries appear in the possible entries help, if you want to createthe report immediately, or schedule a background job.

Proceed as follows:

To delete existing settings for solutions and to import or update their systems, fromthe Solution Directory, choose Import Existing Solutions.

To make solution and system settings manually:

The settings of your active solution must match the values in the Solution Directory.

To change entries for solutions or systems, delete them from the list and enter thecorrect values.

1. Select Add Solution.

2. Enter the name of an active solution. Save your entries.

3. Enter the associated systems in the solution landscape, from the SolutionDirectory. Select the solution and choose Add System.

4. Enter the system ID in the new row. Save your entries.

Repeat this step for all systems in your solution landscape.

You can create report variants with the chapter selection, under Select ES Report Content .Proceed as follows:

1. Select the chapters for your report from the contents overview.

2. Choose Save As... , and enter a technical ID and a description text.

You call report variants with the description text, in the possible entries help.

3. To change an existing report variant, choose it, and change the chapter selection.Choose Save.

Create Enterprise Support Report Ad-Hoc1. Choose the solution for the Enterprise Support report.

2. Select With Chapter Selection to make settings for the contents and scope of thereport.

The system displays the contents overview. You can:

o Select the chapters for your report.

o Select an existing report variant from the possible entries help.

Confirm your entries.

3. To start the report, choose OK.

Schedule Enterprise Support report as background jobYou can schedule the creation of the Enterprise Support report as a weekly or monthlybackground job. Schedule ES Report takes you to the overview.

1. Choose Schedule New Job.

2. Enter the required data:

o Schedule ID of the background job

o The solution for which you want to create the report regularly.

o Time period within which the background job for the report should run

o Interval at which the background job is to run periodically

3. Save your entries.

The scheduled background job is displayed in the list.

4. To change an existing background, select it, and choose Modify Scheduled Job.

Make the required changes. Save your entries.

Check report status and display reportIf you have scheduled a background job, Check ES Report Status goes to the list of statusvalues which displays whether the report is finished.

You can filter this list by:

Schedule ID of the background job

Created by

Document

Note

To restrict the list of entries, filter the schedule ID or document name by the first character(without wildcard).

Under View ES Report, you can open all completed reports as PDF documents, and, forexample, print them or save them locally.
