HIGH-QUALITY DESIGN FOR THE DISCERNING.Those who set great store by timeless elegance in the bathroom choose a shower tray that is installed fl ush with the fl oor. It not only creates a harmonious link to the rest of the room, but its tiled transition also produces a particularly elegant effect. And it has one particular advantage that must not be unde-restimated: it is extremely user-friendly. The level surface ensures it is easy to clean, and the fl ush installation means splashes of water outside the shower area can quickly be returned to the inside.

MORE SAFETY FOR FAMILIES.The combination of Kaldewei shower tray and ESR II provides numerous advantages, especially for families with children. Installed fl ush-with-the-fl oor, there is no ledge to stumble over, and so small children in particular can have the pleasure of a safe and comfortable shower. The ESR II allows for quick and accurate installation of fl ush-with-the-fl oor shower trays with optimum stability. This complete system provides you with all the components required to quickly and safely install ultra-fl at shower trays.

THE SMART FOOT SYSTEM.Flexibility for almost all installation situations is guaranteed by the horizon-tally and vertically adjustable noise-insulating feet of the ESR II. They provide perfect compensation for any unevenness of the fl oor. The feet can be posi-tioned anywhere on the frame, obviating the need for expensive custom-made fi ttings. The installation system frame can position shower trays at structural heights between 65 mm and 164 mm. A minimum installation height of 49 mm (not adjustable) is also possible.

ON COMPLETELY SAFE GROUND.The ESR II fi tting system frame includes a pre-assembled drain-off hose including non-return valve in a rotating con-nection angle and a sealing strip to protect against dama-ge from moisture penetration. This means that any water seepage through faulty silicone seams is then caught in the frame and guided directly to the special siphon. There are various siphon options for the ESR II to choose from to suit various requirements.

PERFECT NOISE INSULATION.For optimum noise insulation, the ESR II has rubber mounting profi les and corner support rubbers. A noise insulation tape applied in the factory serves to interrupt noise between the ESR II and the main body of the building. Furthermore, each foot is also noise-insulated. This ensures that the requirements of DIN 4109/A1 are met. If an anti-drone mat is also used underneath the shower tray, the measured installation noise level is 19dB(A). These fi gures have been confi rmed in a test certifi cate (P-BA 218/2009) from the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics.

If installed heights are not achieved, then fl oor cut-outs and/or breakthroughs will be required. If using an inserted shower tray, ensure there is a gap of at least 10 mm between the siphon and the fl oor. The connection of the siphon to the local waste system and the hose for the water seepage connection may have to be pried open. Kaldewei recommends the use of a standard backfl ow block in the direction of hori-zontal drainage.

The sophisticated leg system can be used for a wide range of installation heights, and is easy to adjust to various installation requirements.

When planning the installation of a shower tray with ESR II, remember that the ESR II is 28 mm wider and longer than the shower tray (important for the screed) (e.g. shower tray dimensions: 90 x 90 cm, screed cut-out required for the installation 92.8 x 92.8 cm). The special frame construction with water seepage connec-tion ensures the optimum protection against damage from moisture penetration.

The installed heights will vary, depending on the siphon version and shower tray design. The following diagram will enable you to establish the installed height of your combination and include it in your bathroom plan.

KALDEWEI TECHNOLOGY THAT CONVINCES

PLANNING A BATHROOM WITH THE ESR II

The ESR II installation system frame is the optimum solution for the fl ush-with-the-fl oor installation of ultra-fl at shower trays. The aligned installation system frame is fi rst placed in a plaster fl oor recess. Special corner pieces assist the tiler with the positioning. This means for one that the tiling can be completed after the ESR II has been installed. The shower tray is installed as the last step and placed on the frame to form a perfect fi t when the fi ne installation is being carried out. There is therefore no danger of the shower tray being damaged - when tiling, for example. And the shower tray can be replaced at a later date cleanly and without damaging the tiles.

Floor attachments are included in the delivery for use in preventing the aligned ESR II from shifting during later installation stages. These fl oor attachments can be positioned as shown in the illustration (depending on the instal-lation situation). In order to achieve the optimum noise insulation, the fl oor attachments are then removed before the shower tray is installed.

Decide on siphon position and the route of con-nections. Create fl oor recess or opening with suitable tools.

Attach the fl eece butyl sealing tape. If the base course of the fl oor tiles does not reach right up to the foot of the frame, the gap must be correct-ly fi lled in with supporting material.

Connect siphon on the drain side and test the drain outlet. Then insert the preset ESR II.

The installation aids can now be used to tile wall and fl oor without having to insert the show-er tray into the ESR II.

Make the drain-off connection and align the in-stallation system frame using a spirit level. Then secure the frame with the enclosed wall connection elements.

Insert the shower tray and connect the siphon to the shower tray. Then seal the edges of the joints with a suitable elastic sealant.
