Welcome to ESPI would like to take this opportunity to introduce our company ESP (Education and Special Projects Ltd). We specialise in the design, installation and CPD (Continued Professional Development) support of the playground and recognise it as a context to deliver improvements across the whole school and community.

We deliver our concept in Early Years, Primary, Secondary, SEN Schools and community settings throughout both the UK and internationally. All of our products and services have been designed as developmentally appropriate interventions and focus very closely on the correct ages and stages of a child’s development.

Our concept has been tested by a number of Independent Universities who confirm that our concept delivers proven increases in:

Ofsted makes very clear that learning outside the classroom, in all its forms, significantly raises standards and achievement. Furthermore, it enhances young people’s motivation and levels of interest, providing real, exciting and enjoyable contexts in which they can respond, behave and learn well.

Ofsted recommend that schools should “ensure that their Curriculum planning includes sufficient well structured opportunities for all learners to engage in learning outside the classroom as a key, integrated element of their experience”.

Our CPD department, headed by Dr David Morley, has a wide range of national expertise and is responsible for supporting all of our products and services in making them relevant and purposeful to the National Curriculum. This ensures that every school working in partnership with ESP delivers sustainable change.

Concept to Completion

From your initial enquiry through to the delivery of your nationally accredited training award, ESP are with you every step of the way to manage your project with the highest quality customer service.

1. EnquiryRight from your initial enquiry, ESP will assign you your own Area Development Manager who will assess your requirements and we will guide you through the first steps to creating your new playground.

2. FREE Site Survey and ConsultationESP offer a completely FREE, no obligation site survey and consultation to understand your requirements in detail. We actively work with Student Councils and other members of staff in order to understand the whole school brief.

3. Creating Your FREE Playground DesignThe real work begins following the site visit. One of our Graphic Designers will create a completely FREE, full colour scaled plan which clearly illustrates and creates the vision of what your playground could look like working in partnership with ESP.

4. Placing Your OrderOnce your design has been finalised and agreed, we will confirm your order and arrange a convenient date for your installation to take place.

6. InstallationOne of our fully trained, CRB vetted Installation Teams will arrive on an agreed date to install your brand new playground and outdoor learning environment.

5. ManufactureOn receipt of your order, the first step is the manufacturing process. Your order will be manufactured and quality assured before being despatched for installation.

7. CPD Training AwardFollowing your installation, our CPD team will contact you to arrange for your first training day. One of our Specialist Trainers will arrive on an agreed time and date and up-skill your staff, parents and leaders on how to get the most out of your brand new learning environment.

Dance Zone Markings

Introduction

Our brand new range of specially designed Thermoplastic Playground Markings aims to introduce children of all ages to the basic concepts of dance and movement.

Featuring seven different dance steps, displayed as easy to follow visual instructions, the new range aims to provide children with a vibrant, fun and exciting way to get involved with dance.

Designed to fit compactly into any playground space and inspired by a traditional dance floor, our markings can be supplied as either a full package, or as individual zones to suit the schools needs and requirements.

Benefits

Teaching children basic dance steps helps to develop their gross motor skills, increase their participation in high quality physical activity and provides them with a new and exciting way of keeping fit and healthy on a daily basis. Keeping children mentally and physically active during their time at school improves self confidence, encourages mental alertness and promotes overall physical wellbeing.

Technical Features

Our Thermoplastic Markings feature a glass bead additive to provide a non-slip surface. They are burned onto tarmac or concrete by our CRB vetted Installation Teams and are ready to use within 15 minutes of being laid. Guaranteed for 3 years, our Thermoplastic Playground Markings can last for up to a decade and require little to no maintenance whilst keeping their bright and vivid appearance.

Cha Cha Cha

Designed to give children plenty of space to perfect their dance steps, the ‘Cha Cha Cha’ zone encourages children to look at and recognise the correct dance steps, follow instructions and utilise the available space to develop their movement, coordination and timing skills.

Salsa

Designed with space in mind, the ‘Salsa’ zone provides children with plenty of room to practice their dance steps. It helps to teach children how to recognise links between movements and symbols, follow instructions and develop their movement, coordination and timing skills.

Circle Step

Fantastic for group dance exercises the ‘Circle Step’ provides children with plenty of room to move around. The consecutive circles ensure that the playground space is used to its full potential and provides a fun place for children to practice their ‘Circle Step’ moves.

Jive

Providing the perfect space for children to stay active, our ‘Jive’ zone encourages physical activity and the development of fundamental movement skills. It creates a fantastic space for practicing coordination, timing and general dance technique.

Quickstep and Waltz

Children can team up with their partners to perfect the ‘Quickstep’ and ‘Waltz’ dance steps. Following the outer line of the marked area to move around the dance floor, children can learn to recognise and practice both sequences and build on their fundamental movement skills.

Reel and Peel

Our ‘Reel and Peel’ zone creates the perfect space for children to practice and perfect their dance steps. It encourages physical activity and helps to develop self confidence, coordination and timing skills.

The Math/Alpha Traversing Wall is an excellent piece of playground equipment that brings physical activity into the outdoor Curriculum and has be proven to be a great way to combine physical activity with numeracy development.

Our outdoor Battle Boards are a very popular piece of playground equipment for both learning and general play. It creates an environment for Curriculum activities and acts as a perfect piece of playground equipment for break times and lunchtimes.

KIN013Tower Puzzle

The Tower Puzzle is based upon an ancient game. The objective is to move the pyramid of disks to the furthest post without putting a larger disk on top of a smaller one. The Tower Puzzle can also be used as part of the Maths Curriculum to teach children about the areas of circles, circumference, radius, diameter and also algebra equations.

Our Connections Wall has been specifically designed to offer children a fully interactive and unique way of learning. Based on the idea of a climbing wall, our Connections Wall features 10 magnetic backed clipboards that can be moved and customised to display images of your own choice.

This piece of low level play equipment is the ideal solution for children aged 3 - 5 years. CPD Training AwardsOur nationally accredited groundbreaking CPD modules offer high quality support for the use of the outdoor classroom. All of our modules are closely aligned to curricular themes and concepts and involve child centred approaches to learning in all deliveries. A range of delegates’ needs are catered for with tailored programmes for adults responsible for children’s learning from a variety of backgrounds including teachers, coaches, midday supervisors, young leaders, parents and carers. Our modules have been evaluated by delegates as inspirational and informative and our web based Members Area offers a great way of ensuring sustainability following the initial CPD delivery in your local area. function safely if they are properly inspected and maintained.
