Parent Drop-off➢ Parents will enter through a specific traffic pattern when

entering the drop-off area. The pattern will follow a two-lane process to the entrance of SMS. Parents will exit SMS utilizing a staggered plan.

➢ Cars within the “cone zone” will be dismissed beginning at 7:10 am (students cannot be dropped off before 7:10)to promote social distancing (both lanes release students at the same time).

Unloading Buses ➢ Buses will be staggerly unloaded to promote social

Transitions➢ Transitions will be staggered with limited students

in the hallway at one time

Restrooms➢ Only 1 student per class will be allowed to use the

restroom at a time➢ Students will not be allowed to use the restroom

during transitions

Clinic➢ Teachers will have classroom nurse stations to address minor

concerns➢ School nurse and principal will follow CDC and VDH algorithms

when assessing students that showcase COVID-19 symptoms (isolation room will be used)

➢ Students who take daily medications will have a scheduled time to visit the clinic

Classroom Supplies➢ Students are encouraged to bring their own school

supplies

➢ Classrooms will limit the amount of objects being

shared and follow proper sanitization steps

Library Books➢ Students may reserve a library book through our

online database (media specialist will deliver to classroom or front office)

➢ Returned books will be isolated for sanitization before reentering circulation

Parent Pick-up➢ Parents will follow a similar process as drop-off for parent pick-up➢ Students will staggerly dismiss from 2:38 pm - 2:45 pm

○ 7th grade (2:38 and 2:40)○ 8th grade (2:42 and 2:44)

➢ Parents may wait in the line or parking lot➢ Students who ride with a high-schooler will walk to their vehicle
