Competence in Machine design

For generations, Eschlböck took their pride in developing innovative agricultural and horticultural machines. In 1956, Rudolf Eschlböck, a young farmer from Eschlbach, in the Prambachkirchen municipality, established a company to develop and produce machines for agricultural requirements.

His self-loading trailer with a moving floor for unloading turned out to be the most successful letters patent of Rudolf Eschlböck, the founder and today's senior partner of the Eschlböck company that first produced wood chippers in 1978.

A company leadership with a strong sense of responsibility for all the workers whose efficiency and capability formed this family enterpr ise into the most innovat ive manufacturer in the woodchipping industry is considered a heritage from the Eschlböck family.

Europe's widest range of woodcutting devices Biber is Eschlböck's brand name for a complete assortment of woodchippers for agricultural demand, extending to devices in industrial machinery. Eschlböck produces manually-fed disk-style and drum-style chippers for twigs and branches of 12 cm in diameter as well as large-scale chippers for up to 75 cm trunks, and they are the only producer in Europe to do so.

Biber – an success account

In 1984, the Eschlböck family enterprise developed the Biber 5 disk wheel chipper. This multi-purpose device can be applied for producing as rough wood chips up to 12cm as precise smaller wood chips. The Biber 5 KL enabled lots of agricultural and horticultural communities in Bavaria and Austria an evolving change from traditionally shoveled wood log feeding to small wood chips suitable for automatically feeded heating devices. Since then, more than 1600 Biber 5 have been sold to customers.

In 1992, Eschlböck came out with Biber 7, the robust drum woodchipper with an 35 x 56 cm feeding aperture. Eschlböck's chipping drum with its shifted pairs of cutting knives became standard in woodchipping technology.

The Biber 8 (from 2001 referred to as Biber 80), Eschlböck's first large wood chipper, was first produced and sold in 1995.

In 2008, Eschlböck set a new standard in woodchipping technology by introducing the new multi-purpose cutting rotor producing as coarse as fine cuttings. The new models are suitable for producing fine chips of precise dimensions that for several decades Biber devices are renowned for - as well as coarse chips for industrial devices.

The new Biber 2 V is a chipper for professionals, equipped with a powerful Kohler diesel engine with / 38 HP and a torque of 133 Nm. The compact trailermounted machine meets perfectly the needs of municipalities and landscape gardeners.

Quality, proven for decades

The powerful autonom infeed system of Biber 2V and Biber 2Z as well as the high flywheel mass of the 75 cm chipping disc with 3 knifes is built for continous use in all kinds of wood, up to the maximum log diameter. This makes the Biber 2 to an outstanding machine in its class.

A new, ergonomic infeed hopper reduces the possibility to hit the head when feeding the machine, enhances work safety and makes professional operation much more comfortable.

The optimised feeding system and a large and aggressive feeding roller allow convenient introduction of material within easy reach of the chipping knives.

Increased flow capacity, higher quality of wood chips

Its split and large screen element accelerates the material drainage after the chipping process, also increasing the flow capacity of wood chips. The minor friction also reduces the content of small particles leading to a higher quality of wood chips.

Gentle ejection

The large, low-wear blowers with a diameter of 1.55 m allow gentle ejection of wood chips to a wide range.

Accurate stream of chips

Ejection at a level of 5.2 m is ideal for feeding high-levelled trailers and containers. It is hydraulically adjustable in level from 2.6 to 5.2 m. By using the optional flap above the stream, the chip spout can be diverted upwards or downwards to use the space of the applied storage area to full capacity. Fine or coarse chipping

Maximal infeed width

The effective cutting width of 147 cm is a great peak value in this class! Thanks to the large infeed width, each crane loading is brought to the cutting knives in an effective way. This comfort for the operator results in an increase of the throughput per hour and per day. Especially when processing a huge amount of material, the new Biber 85 shows its advantages.

Adjustable chipping rotor

The well-proven Eschlböck chipping rotor consists of low-wear material, is easy in maintenance and service reduced. You can switch – even belatedly – between robust chipping knives and the fast-adjustable blade system, working with a half or full set of knives or blades.

Speed, height and direction of the conveyor belt can be varied during operation. The double adjustment option of the tilt angle improves the loading efficiency.

Having an 8 m long and 135 degrees pivotable belt, the Biber 92 ZK top and the Biber 92 RBZ top operate very flexible. They are unbeatable in producing coarse wood chips with little fines.

The power source of this chipper is the truck engine. Biber trucks can be moved quickly even on long distances on motorways. In addition, its all-wheel drive gives customers the option of operating the machine on unfortified forestry roads as well as in the open country

Once you have seen the Spaltbiber in action, as a wood chipper you can always be secure in the knowledge that there will never be any logs left over.

The Spaltbiber works on an entirely new principle. It splits sideways.

That means it can split any diameter of tree trunk easily and safely that the loading crane is able to fit in the splitter's tray.

The loading crane can also be used to lift up the top, split section and so helps further in the splitting process.

No tree trunk is too thick!

Combining a Spaltbiber with your chipper makes wood chip production considerably more efficient: oversized logs can be split and wood continuously supplied to the chipper's feed chute to be made into chips, in a single process.

Logs more than a metre in diameter are simply placed back in the semi-circular tray for splitting again. With the Spaltbiber, there'll be no logs left over.

Being mounted on a chipper, tractor or truck, the Spaltbiber can be used in a flexible way.
