ANIMAL FARM POTENTIAL IN BOGOR

Bogor is one of big city in West Java Province. Bogor is located about 56 km

far away from Jakarta. Bogor was already known as a central for agriculture studies

in Indonesia by having Bogor Agricultural Institute in there. Bogor was known as

“Rain City” because of its high rain density. Bogor’s location itself is in high altitude

position so it has a good potensial to open a vegetable field or livestock farm

Bogor has a potential in animal breeding sector, especially chicken farm.

Chicken farm in Bogor is already provide chicken meat and egg supplies for several

city near Bogor such as, Depok, Jakarta, and Bekasi. Chicken is already become

Bogor’s main commodity in poultry sector since a long time ago. Beside chicken

farm, Bogor also have some potential in cow and sheep farm at outskirts of Bogor.

This potensial can be maximalized by cooperation between the breeder, and Bogor

goverment since Bogor has some empty space for growing up the breeding place. In

short, Bogor has a good potential and advantages to grow up livestock sector and

dairy products.

Beside animal for livestock sector, Bogor also has a potential in breeding up

non-productive animal for pet, such as rabbit and hamster. Rabbit and hamster farm

are have some potential to be maximalized in Bogor since they doesn’t need an large

space to open. Nowadays rabbit and hamster are popular as a pet, since their

cutenesses and easy to taken care of. There are a lot of rabbit and hamster seller in

Bogor and some of them was already became a supplier to some towns near Bogor. It

means that both rabbit and hamster farm got some potensial to grow up in here.
