DID YOU KNOW It took 12 flatbed trucks to transport Sequence’s 213 tons of weatherproof steel to SFMOMA.

TAKE A CLOSER LOOK
Sketch Sequence from the outside, the inside, or a bird’s eye view. What do you notice about the sculpture after drawing it from that perspective?
Walk through the work (be careful not to touch it as you do). Think about your movement through the sculpture and then draw a line that illustrates your path.
TAKE A CLOSER LOOK
Inspect the living wall. Draw your favorite plants.
Alexander Calder is best known as the inventor of the mobile, or moving sculpture. Observe Calder’s Big Crinkly (1969) and shade in the pieces you see moving. What do you think causes this motion?
Floor 3Explore the living wall and Alexander Calder.
?DID YOU KNOW Ours is the largest living wall in the United States, with over 19,000 individual plants and 21 native species. Depending on what time of year you visit, there may even be flowers in bloom!

TAKE A CLOSER LOOK
Stand on the bridge and take a look around. Can you find a hidden artwork on the wall? This special “scribble” is Matthew Barney’s DRAWING RESTRAINT 14 (2006), created while the artist hung from cables. Draw your own Barney-inspired piece below.
