Meets Hadley Richardson and marries her

Couple moves to Paris and becomes a correspondent for Toronto Star

The Lost Generation

Befriends Gertrude Stein and meets many other famous artists

Friends with F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ezra Pound, Pablo Picasso and James Joyce

Writes The Sun Also Rises

Has an affair with Pauline Pfeiffer, divorces Richardson and marries Pfeiffer

Hemingway the Legend

Moves to Florida with second wife

Writes his masterpiece, A Farewell to Arms

Travelled the world when he was not writing

Reported on Spanish Civil War

Met Martha Gellhorn (becomes wife number three)

Completes next novel, For Whom the Bell Tolls

Later Writings

Becomes a war correspondent for World War II

Meets Mary Welsh (wife number four)

1951 writes The Old Man and the Sea

Wins Pulitzer Prize

Struggles and Death of a Legend

Survives several plane crashes

Wins the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1954

Suffered major depression

Major drinking problem

Unable to cope without writing

Commits suicide July 2nd, 1961
