Steri-tubeSilicone Tubing

Applications:Steri-tube is a seamless, translucent, highly flexible siliconeelastomer tubing, completely free of plasticisers oradditives. Steri-tube may be sterilized by autoclaving, ETO orirradiation.

Platinum cured Steri-tube is used extensively in foodprocessing and pharmaceutical plants for peristaltic pumps,electrical insulation blood transfusion and microbiologyareas.

A hi-tear grade version is available for peristaltic pumps.

Description:Silicone rubber reinforced with one ply of fabric. Usuallymanufactured by extrusion but mandrel-wrapped versionsare also available. Can be supplied cut to length or on acontinuous reel when extruded.

Applications:ERIKS Hose Technology (EHT) is expert in the supply of PTFE tube.We offer a very comprehensive range of standard sizes to satisfymost needs.

PTFE tube has the best chemical resistance (alongside PFA) of allknown polymers. It’s temperature range of -70oC to +265oC opensup PTFE tubing to many applications most other polymers can’twithstand.

The electrical insulation properties of PTFE tubing are superb makingit an ideal choice for electrical sleeving. Chemical dosing & meteringpumps require long continuous lengths of PTFE tube, very difficult toproduce but possible with EHT.

Polyethylene (PE) TubingLow, medium & high density Imperial PE tubing

Applications:Ideal in low pressure applications such as air and pneumaticlines, fluid feeds, chemical transfer, food and beverageprocessing, potable water systems, drains, pool and spasupply lines, and more.

LDPE exhibits a high degree of inertness and forms a goodbarrier to gases, vapours, and moisture. It provides gooddielectric properties and will not impart any taste or odourto fluids running through it. LDPE is manufactured from non-toxic, 100% virgin grade resins with ingredients that conformto FDA standards.

Resistant to water and organic salt solutions, diluted basesand acids as well as concentrated bases have no effect, butall will discolour and crack under the action of concentratednitric and sulphuric acids particularly at high temperatures.

LDP tube does not rely on plasticiser for flexibility so is idealfor food applications.

Advantages of LDPE Tubing: - cheap, good chemicalresistance, high impact strength at low temperatures,excellent electrical properties

Disadvantages: - low strength, low stiffness, low maximumoperating temperature, flammable, poor UV resistance, highgas permeability (particularly CO2), susceptible toenvironmental stress cracking

PU SuperflexPU ducting, delivery

Description:Ether based Polyurethane duct reinforced with an anti-shockrigid PVC helix. Completely smooth inside, corrugatedoutside. Wall thickness from 0,4 to 0,8 mm.

Properties:High mechanical properties: light, really flexible, easy tobend. Really good resistance to microbes, hydrolysis, ozone,weather conditions, UV , and chemicals. Halogens freeconform to RoHS as well as phthalates free.


Inlays:Anti-shock rigid PVC helix

Applications:Suction of liquids and dry food such as grains, animal feed,sugar, flour etc. Suitable for fatty foods, but not for milk ordairy products.

Ohm Hose:Antistatic version also available with a copper wire. Byearthing the copper wire the duct is electrically bonded. Theelectrical resistance R ≤ 102 Ohm/m is according to ISO 8031- ATEX Directive 94/4/EC and 99/92/EC.

PlastiflexVacuum Cleaner Hose

Applications:EHT Plastiflex has excellent crush and kink resistance and isextremely durable. If crushed the hose springs back to itsformer shape. This is due to the interlocking plastic profiledstrip. This gives superb flexibility and capability to bend verytightly with no constriction of the inner dimensions.

The hose is entirely of plastic which makes it very lightweight. The inner surface is recessed and has a smoothfinish, reducing flow resistance and easing the feeding ofcables. Plastiflex has many uses, it’s main one being for theindustrial vacuum cleaner as it is very light and very robust.

However Plastiflex is also often used for carwash and otherindustrial applications.

Properties: Plastiflex is ideal for industrial vacuum cleaners but

can also be used for the protection of electricalcables

Rubber BellowsMoulded Rubber Bellows

Moulded Rubber Bellows are designed to compensate for misalignment, neutralise movement and reduce noise andvibration in pipelines. They effectively dampen the transmission of sound and vibration from plant items in buildingservice installations, and can be used for many applications including water, oils, chemicals, gases and in the foodindustry depending upon the grade of the rubber (please see Material Colour Chart below).

They are available in a number of different types of material to suit the media going through the bellows andgenerally come complete with carbon steel swivel backing flanges; please specify the style when ordering. These canbe drilled to suit any table or special drillings and can be supplied either tied or untied.

Bolt ClampHose & duct bolt clamp

Bolt clamps are constructed from either low carbon mild steel finished with a rust resistant zincplating or Stainless Steel. Each clamp has its range stamped in mm on the band, for ease ofidentification.

Description:HK couplings are so designed that, when the coupling isbeing connected, the seal is made before the valves open toallow fluid to flow. On disconnection, the valves close to sealoff both ends of the line before the main coupling seal isbroken.

Seals:HK couplings incorporate high-grade elastomeric seals. Thenitrile seal material supplied as standard gives excellentresistance to oil, air, water and many other liquids andgases. In addition, various optional seal compounds suchas Viton, EPDM, Kalrez, PTFE etc. are readily available as

alternatives where arduous operating conditions such aselevated temperatures apply.

Applications:hydraulics, water, steam, oil, solvents, chemicals, fuels,various gases and vacuums etc.

Self-Sealing:Spring-operated valves in both the socket and plug halvesopen automatically to allow full flow of liquid or gas onconnection, and give automatic, positive shut-off ondisconnection, eliminating all chances of fluid escape due toerror.

Specifying a hose

In order to specify the correct hose, a “STAMPEDE” form such as the one below is often used in order to capture allof the information needed to correctly specify a hose.

S stands for SIZE; I.D., O.D. and length. T stands for TEMPERATURE of the material conveyed and environmental, Astands for the APPLICATION, the conditions of use. M stands for the MATERIAL being conveyed, type andconcentration, P stands for the PRESSURE to which the assembly will be exposed. E stands for ENDS; style, type,orientation, attachment methods, etc. D stands for DELIVERY; testing, quality, packaging, and delivery requirements,E Stands for extras such as certification or tags.
