Social Media Guidelines

"Every time you communicate, whether it’s in-person or on social media, you shape public

opinion about you, your profession, your school, your board and public education.

Statements like, “Tweets are my own and don’t reflect my

employer’s views,” don’t hold true for educators. Although staff lead private lives, the Supreme Court of Canada has ruled that educators’ off-duty conduct, even when not directly related to students, is relevant to their suitability to teach. For Peel District School Boards "Social Media

Guidelines for Staff" click here

Health Promotion Program Members are encouraged to contact the office if they receive

an HPP letter. The board is inundated with calls and emails

from all employee groups as this program encompasses all

working groups in PDSB. The unions have joined together

and are fighting against this. The Executive is dealing with

members on an individual basis to make sure that people

who are on the accommodation list or an approved leave are

being removed from the program. Since we have been

advocating for our members the Board has agreed to revamp

the program. The Board is also considering putting a new

code in PAM for specialist appointments. Members will be

notified when new information is available.

If you require further assistance please contact the

union office 905-602-9300.
