This laser certification training course is geared towards den-tists, which would like to integrate dental laser therapy in their therapy spectrum. By using innovative therapy concepts and the development of new therapy fields in laser dentistry, you will not only satisfy your patients but also provide high quality advantag-es against your colleague dentists.

Furthermore you will create new business potentials for your dental clinic.

Theoretical backgrounds, clinical indications, skill training and patient demo treatments are integral parts of the workshop. Biophysical basics and laser safety fundamentals are integrat-ed in the course program. All relevant clinical indications of the 2780nm Er,Cr:YSGG laser and the 940nm diode laser will be showed and demonstrated. Furthermore the technical steps towards a responsible usage of a laser will be presented and demonstrated. You will see live-patient demonstrations and you will learn the clinical indications in the skill training.

After finishing this workshop you will be able to treat your pa-tients adequate and successful with your Waterlase iPlus!The objective of the course is to enable dentists to treat patients with laser adjuvants and laser based therapeutic methods, as highly qualified specialists, and in a responsible manner.

WORKSHOP LECTURERS

Prof. Dr. Norbert Gutknecht studied medicine and dentistry from 1979-89 at the Universities of Bochum, Florence and Aachen. Since 1989, he has worked as a scientific researcher at the University Hospital of the RWTH Aachen University. Since 1992, Prof. Dr. Gutknecht has been the head of the Aachen Research Institute for Lasers in Dentistry (AALZ) at the Clinic of Conservative Dentistry, Periodontology and Preventive Dentistry at the University Hospital of the RWTH in Aachen, Germany. He is co-founder and president of the German Society for Laser Dentistry (DGL) and he is the executive director of World Federation for Laser Dentistry (WFLD). During his tenure as Editor of the Laser in Medical Science Journal and as a visiting professor at several universities worldwide, he has become an established expert in Laser Dentistry. His national and international workshops on indications and treatment expectations in laser-based dental therapy are widelyvisited. Prof. Dr. Gutnknecht is the course director of the first worldwide accreditedMaster of Science course in Lasers in Dentistry at RWTH Aachen University, established since 2004.
