Major Changes in Erasmus +

Turkey has equal rights/status as EU members, candidates and EEA countries

Turkey can directly sign agreement with all eligible program countries be it EU, candidate or EEA country

Seven former programs (such as LLP Erasmus, Youth, Erasmus Mundus, Tempus, etc.) were combined under one umbrella program: Erasmus +

Major Changes in Student Mobility:Same student may benefit from mobility up to 12 months

maximum, per each cycle of study (B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D.) independently from the number and type of mobility activities (including traineeship)

Starting from 2015-2016, Erasmus+ countries will be able to send and receive students & staff to and from partner countries outside the European Area

No longer EILC courses from 2014-2015; instead online linguistic support initially for 5 languages: EN, DE, ES, FR, IT

New format for Learning Agreement: 15 pages including 3 sections: “before mobility”, “during mobility”, “after mobility”- Signed scanned copies eligible- The list of courses both at the partner university and reciprocal courses recognized at METU- Reason for course change- The beginning and end dates of the mobility

Major Changes in Traineeship:

Duration: between 2-12 months

Students will also be able to benefit from traineeship 12 months after graduation on condition that they apply in the last year of their study

Student Mobility Grants:More than one and maxiumum up to 12 months per each

cycle of study independently from the type of mobility activities (including traineeship)

Grants set by the EU Commission in 3 distinct categories of countries depending on their living cost:-Group I: maximum 500 Euros/monthly-Group II: between 250-450 Euros/monthly-Group III: minimum 150 Euros/monthly

Traineeship: student mobility grants + 100-200 Euros/monthly

intakes will vary indicatively between 2 and 3 million EUR.Application: March 27, 2014; directly to the Commission
