FAIRWAY CONDITIONER

Jacobsen offers the Turf Groomer fairwayconditioner, which has a large front rollerand thick cutting blades for greater strengthand durability. Two blade spacings are avail-able. Its drive system has a tough, one-inchdrive belt that is protected from debris by asealed housing. The cover is easilyremoved for inspections and adjustments.

A quick, up/down blade adjuster raises orlowers the knives up 3/8-inch, in 1/8-inchincrements, to quickly raise the blades toskip grooming. A micro-depth adjustmentdial fine tunes cutting heights without tools,and anti-scalp wheels prevent marking onundulating turf.

INJECTION SYSTEMS

Lesco's Microfeeder Injection Systemsare designed to microfeed golf courses,parks, cemeteries, nurseries, athletic fields,and other large, irrigated turfgrass areas byproviding frequent, low-rate product appli-cation. They can be used to apply fertilizers,micronutrients, and surfactants through anirrigation system.

All four systems utilize diaphragm pumpsranging from 3.4 gph at 142 psi to 41 gph at142 psi. Three of the systems have flowmeters and electronic microprocessors toaccurately vary the pump rate and provideconstant water-to-nutrient or water-to-surface ratios.

Model 340 provides a constant flow of

material and is for use with flow rates of1,000 gpm or less. Model 345 is also for usewith flow rates of 1,000 gpm or less. The result is dark green turf that requiresless frequent mowing than coventionally-maintained turf.

Weeds in the slower-growing turf are con-trolled by Trimec herbicide included in thetank mix with the PGR and iron. Since thearea will not be mowed as often, faster-growing weeds in the turf can be a problemif not controlled.

The growth regulator in the mix reducesthe development of seed heads and redirectsthe plant's energy toward root and rhizomedevelopment. Gordon is offering a cashdemonstration incentive to professional turfmanagers in charge of low-traffic turf areaswith irrigation systems.
