Whilst scraping down the hull around the sea toilet intake, the scraper caught the edge of the intake filter. The result was that it dropped off the boat, if this happened at sea or on the mooring the boat would have sank. please check fittings!!.

Sea-cock for toilet intake, note that from inside the boat there is no indication as to the condition of the securing screws!.This Shut off Valve was showing no signs of being loose.

Please let this be a WARNING as to the condition of fixing screws on Older Boats!.
