Canon 550D

• For the filming process of my music video project I will using this camera, as it is easily accessible through the school's media department. In addition to this it will also give me high quality shots and footage as I am able to shoot in High Definition, therefore the end product will look to more of a high standard and more professional. I find this camera suitable for the task of filming my music video as I have previously used it for my AS coursework as well as GCSE, so I have had experience in the past with this piece of technology. Other benefits of this camera include that it is a decent size for carrying around which is suitable when filming in settings. Furthermore because it is digital, it is easy to store all the shots and footage onto a memory card that I can then transfer onto the computer to compile and edit.

Tripod

• I will be using this piece of equipment alongside the camera to help make the filming process easier. The camera is slotted onto the top of the tripod to act as a stable stand for the camera, minimizing wobbliness and shaking that would appear if the camera was being held. This will make my footage look more professional, as when analysing other music videos they use several shots where the camera is still, and I would like to recreate this in my own video.

Computer Editing Software

• Photoshop: This will be used when creating my Digipak, to edit the photos I have taken and the different shots I have used.

• Adobe Premiere: This is the most important piece of software that I will be using during this project as I will be using it edit my footage and put it all together. I have used this programme before so I have quite a bit of experience with it, although I do still find some of it quite confusing and so would need help from other students and staff when carrying out this task.

• Adobe After Effects: I have not used this programme before, but this software will be used to add different effects to my footage, such as different colours or possibly black and white colour scheme. This would make my video better as it adds more contrast to the continuity of it and therefore the viewer would not get bored, making my video more entertaining and successful.
